About The Position
HealthDrive is a leading provider of Ancillary and Primary Care services to residents of communities across the nation, with over 30 years of experience. They are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Dental Assistant to provide dental services to the elderly population in nursing homes and assisted living facilities. This role involves assisting dentists with clinical and non-clinical duties, requiring travel to multiple locations per day. The position offers Tuesday through Friday work with potential for Mondays, and 32 to 40 hours per week. The service area includes Harrisburg, Wernersville, Mechanicsburg, Carlisle, Newville, Shippensburg, Bhambersburg, and Gettysburg.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- One year Dental Assistant experience
- Valid Driver's Licence and clean driving record
- Registered Dental Assistant
- Xray Certification
- Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently under direct supervision on a daily basis.
- Ability to use email, the internet and to learn other healthcare related software.
- Self starter attitude with the desire to deliver quality, thoughtful and attentive care.
- Ability to stand, to bend, and to lift.
- Ability to transport patients in wheelchairs.
Responsibilities
- Prepares patients for dental procedures.
- Assists Dentist during dental procedures.
- Sterilizes or disinfects instruments, sets up instrument trays and prepares materials.
- Records treatment information in patient records.
- Provides postoperative instructions prescribed by dentist.
- Assists dentist in the management of medical or dental emergencies.
- Instruct patients in oral hygiene and plaque control programs.
- Clean and polish removable appliances.
- Make preliminary impressions for study casts and occlusal registrations for mounting study casts.
- Adheres to OSHA guidelines regarding patient care, disposal of materials, and sterilization of equipment on a daily basis.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
