About The Position

Registered Dental Assistants perform patient care, office, and laboratory duties. The primary role is to assist the dentist in helping patients commit to the best possible treatment with urgency. This includes using x-ray time to explain the dentist’s qualities, learning patients’ expectations and educating them with intra-oral pictures, using effective and anticipatory chair-side skills, and supporting the dentist’s diagnosis when patients have questions. The RDA must follow procedures for compliance with state and federal safety regulations, infection control, and permitted duties.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent, plus training courses mandated by the state for certification, licensure, or registration.
Certifications, licenses, or registrations mandated by the applicable state.

Nice To Haves

Associate degree or one-year certificate from an accredited college or technical school, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

Assist the dentist as necessary to help patients commit to the best possible treatment with urgency.
Participate in the Perfect Patient Experience by keeping patients focused on optimal treatment while attending to their individual needs and concerns.
Maintain a clean, sterile, and cheerful environment; prepare patients for treatment and assist doctors in providing efficient, quality dental treatment.
At the dentist’s direction, complete x-rays and intra-oral pictures of patients as appropriate.
At the dentist’s direction, instruct patients on postoperative and general oral health care.
Sterilize and disinfect instruments, equipment, and operatories in accordance with American Dental Association guidelines.
Maintain compliance with applicable state, federal, and other regulations and policies, including OSHA, WC, Dental Board, HIPAA, ADA, and DOL requirements.
