About The Position
This position will assist the dentist and the dental hygienist in providing dental care to clinic patients.
Requirements
- Graduate degree from an Accredited Dental Assisting program or CDA.
- 1 to 2 years of related experience.
- Registered Dental Assistant with the Dental Board of California.
- X-ray certified.
- Sealant certified.
- Coronal polish certified.
- Ultrasonic certified.
- Must provide proof of required vaccinations by federal, state, and local funding sources.
- Employees driving personal vehicles for El Proyecto business must provide El Proyecto proof of a valid driving license, and auto liability insurance.
Nice To Haves
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for dental procedures, including seating and draping.
- Assist the dentist during procedures, such as handling instruments, rinsing, and suctioning.
- Take dental X-rays and teeth impressions for study casts.
- Perform coronal polishing.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene, including brushing, flossing, and nutrition.
- Sterilize and disinfect dental instruments and equipment.
- Comply with dental infection control protocols.
- Prepare treatment rooms.
- Mix dental materials.
- Provide post-procedure care and instructions.
- Update patient records.
- Monitor and maintain dental supply inventory.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
