About The Position

This position assists the supervising dentist with procedures within the scope of an RDA as outlined in Title 16, chapter 3. The Registered Dental Assistant (Outpatient) assists in daily office functions such as answering phones, making appointments, registering patients and breaking down charts at the end of the day. They also assist in the scheduling of dental patients, clean and sterilize dental equipment and operatories between patients, and maintain and meet expectations on time for all competencies, license, certifications and education requirements as outlined by local administration, Adventist Health (AH), The Joint Commission (TJC), Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), and all other regulatory agencies. Performs additional duties as assigned, sets up the trays used for each procedure, and willingly performs other duties and innovations as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School graduate or GED required
  • Minimum of one year experience in dental office or similar setting
  • Current CPR Certification
  • Licensed as a Registered Dental Assistant by the State of California within three months of hire
  • Frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing, reaching above shoulders, sitting, walking inclines and declines, standing, talking, hearing, and performing repetitive hand motions.
  • Vision requirements include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Occasionally lift boxes and/or supplies weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Demonstrate lifting a 25-pound box from the floor.
