Requirements

Up to six-months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
BLS certification.
Must be registered as a Cardiac Sonographer with American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Cardiac Sonography Credentialing International (CCI).

Responsibilities

Accurately performs ultrasound studies such as: Echocardiograms, Stress/Dobutamine Echocardiograms, and Transesophageal Echocardiograms.
Performs Holter Monitor scanning.
Safely and appropriately performs standard and special electrode placement and/or transducer usage for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
Proficient in performance of all diagnostic testing and procedures including: echocardiograms, cardiac doppler studies, transesophageal echocardiograms, stress/dobutamine stress echocardiograms, contrast imaging, Holter monitor application and scanning, and basic ECG.
Accurately completes at least 10 studies and appropriate documentation in an eight-hour shift.
Assists in training other technicians as directed by supervisor.
Demonstrates competency in cardiovascular echocardiography and is able to perform echocardiograms without supervision.
Must be able to recognize abnormal structure and correlate the information, with clinical history, into findings report.
Consults with ordering and/or reading provider and contribute professional knowledge.
