About The Position

BAYADA Behavioral Health is seeking individuals to start a career as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) through their RBT Academy. This program is designed for recent graduates, paraprofessionals, skills trainers, and educational assistants who are interested in working with individuals with Autism and other Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities (IDDs). The academy provides comprehensive training, including web-based courses, hands-on practice, and study guides, to prepare participants for RBT certification. RBTs play a crucial role in reducing challenging behaviors, increasing functional skills, and fostering independence in clients.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age
• An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree OR 48 college credits including Math 100 and English 100 OR a High School Diploma/GED with Passage of the ParaPro Praxis assessment (BAYADA assistance available)
• Complete RBT Academy and pass the RBT Exam to become an RBT with BAYADA

Responsibilities

• Work directly with students in the classroom, following the established service plan
• Establish and maintain relationships with clients and school teams
• Implement behavior therapy techniques and collaborate with teachers to support the student in the classroom environment
• Document interventions and progress towards goals
• Collect behavior data as specified in client behavior plan
• Provide training, instruction, and assistance to help the student acquire and maintain skills and meet identified goals
• Provide support to the client in interpersonal skills, development, and maintenance of personal relationships, and building independence in their school routine
• Supports school age children to succeed with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)
