About The Position
The Arc of the Ozarks is hiring a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to provide direct behavior support for adults with developmental disabilities and significant behavioral support needs. This role is a good fit for someone who is already RBT certified and wants meaningful, hands-on work where consistency, dignity, safety, and person-centered support matter every day.
Requirements
- Current Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification
- Ability to work in Springfield, MO
- Ability to work scheduled hours within the Monday-Friday 3:00 PM-7:00 PM timeframe
- Comfort supporting adults with significant behavioral support needs
- Ability to remain calm, professional, and consistent during high-intensity situations
- Strong communication, teamwork, and documentation skills
- Commitment to person-centered and trauma-informed support
Nice To Haves
- Experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities
- Experience implementing behavior support plans
- Experience supporting individuals with aggression or other high behavioral needs
- Experience collecting behavior data
Responsibilities
- Provide direct behavior support services to adults with developmental disabilities
- Implement individualized behavior support plans under supervision
- Support individuals who may have significant behavioral needs, including aggression or other high-intensity behaviors
- Use calm, consistent, and respectful approaches to help maintain safety
- Collect and document behavior data accurately
- Communicate updates with supervisors, BCBAs, and team members
- Build respectful relationships that support independence, choice, and quality of life
