Registered Behavior Specialilst - Washington County Preschools
About The Position
The Registered Behavior Specialist will implement Behavior Intervention Plans for students identified through the referral process in Washington County Preschools, as designed by a Board Certified Behavioral Analyst (BCBA). This role involves supporting the educational team in implementing behavior strategies to enhance student success in their natural environment, facilitating the achievement of educational goals. The specialist will also provide recommendations on individual and classroom strategies, assist in developing behavioral goals for Individual Education Programs, collect assessments and documentation, and support students transitioning from alternative programs.
Responsibilities
- Implement the Behavior Intervention Plan for student(s) identified through the referral process as designed by the Board Certified Behavioral Analyst (BCBA)
- Support the educational team in implementing behavior strategies to increase the success of the student(s) in their natural environment in order to facilitate the achievement of the educational goals of the student(s)
- Provide recommendations to the educational team on individual and classroom strategies to increase student success per the direction of the BCBA
- Assist the Intervention Specialist in developing behavioral goals as outlined in the student’s Individual Education Program
- Collects assessments, documents and records relating to Individual students
- Assist students who are transitioning from alternative programs, such as BCAP and the behavioral classrooms within the district or neighboring districts
- Follow standardized practices and methods and utilize resources that can be used to perform job responsibilities
- Foster positive community relations over time
- Build trust and ongoing positive relationship with constituents
- Perform the above and other related cuties consistent with the scope and intent of the position with strict confidentiality
- Such other duties as assigned by the OVESC Superintendent
