About The Position

Amentum is seeking a Registered Architect to support the SFHP Project. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of design, trends, construction methodology, material application, and manufacturer-supplier appropriateness. This role involves working with architects and designers from various Amentum offices to complete technical portions of projects within established budgets and schedules. Amentum Nuclear Projects is a Tier 1 service provider to the U.S. Department of Energy, specializing in safe and innovative solutions for complex nuclear cleanup and production sites, offering services in program management, decommissioning, environmental remediation, waste and nuclear material management, nuclear operations, consulting, and engineering and construction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture from an accredited Architectural program
  • Licensed Architect in Idaho with current registration or licensed in another state with ability to obtain ID licensure within six months
  • Experience designing commercial or industrial facilities
  • Demonstrate experience of delivering a range of projects from concept through detailed design completion.
  • Experience with International Building Code (IBC) and specifications
  • Strong knowledge of design, trends, construction methodology, material application, and manufacturer-supplier appropriateness
  • Experience working within a quality system based on ISO 9000 or NQA-1
  • Competent using discipline specific software such as: Revit, AutoCAD, Microstation, etc.
  • Competent using Microsoft Office software.
  • US citizenship required.
  • Valid driver's license is required.
  • Must be able to work in a team atmosphere.
  • Must take and pass a pre-employment drug and background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Able to lead groups of architects and designers to complete technical portions of projects within established budgets and schedules.
  • Experience with Department of Energy (DOE) standards and Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) regulations
  • Master’s degree is a plus
  • LEED AP certification
  • NCARB registration is preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Work with architects and designers from Idaho Falls and other Amentum offices to complete technical portions of projects within established budgets and schedules.
  • Follow established Amentum quality procedures and ensure all work accomplished under their control is accomplished under established quality procedures.
  • Lead groups of architects and designers to complete technical portions of projects within established budgets and schedules (preferred qualification).
  • Work onsite at Idaho National Lab daily if needed.
  • Occasional travel.
  • Work near construction job site equipment when in the field.
  • Occasional need to work near hazardous equipment and machinery.
  • Occasional need to walk on uneven ground.
  • Occasional exposure to dust, gas or fumes, noise, extremes in temperature or humidity, and potential work at heights.
  • Maintain professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation.
  • Ensure grooming and dress are appropriate for the position and do not impose a safety risk/hazard.
