Implements NHG strategies and operational plans, develops teams, achieves financial goals, and ensures compliance with brand standards within a designated geographic region.

Requirements

  • GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Three (3) years of experience performing responsible work in hotel/motel operations/hospitality industry that enabled the applicant to gain a background in operational practices, skill in dealing with others in person-to-person work relationships, and the ability to exercise mature judgment.
  • OR SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR GENERAL EXPERIENCE: One (1) year of academic study above the high school level may be substituted for 9 months of experience, up to a maximum of a 4-year bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Business, Marketing, or other related fields for 3 years of general experience.
  • AND SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Six (6) years of progressively responsible experience that provided an in-depth knowledge of hotel/motel or institutional management or other related service industry management and operations. Such experience should include a background in most of the following: procurement of supplies and equipment, operational efficiency, sanitation, internal finance controls, budgeting, staffing, room design, and decorating, or similar work that demonstrated the knowledge and abilities of the operational area and at least 3 years experience as a hotel general manager responsible for daily operations, marketing, financial performance, administration, guest relations, personnel, marketing, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and direct daily field operations within a dedicated geographical region.
  • Implement and enforce policy and procedures.
  • Ensure the quality of the product aligns with brand standards.
  • Advise and direct General Managers within the region.
  • Communicate with relevant stakeholders.
  • Stays relevant with industry trends.
  • Familiar with each local installation and market within the region.
  • Ensures maximum and full utilization of all facilities, equipment, resources, and personnel within the region.
  • Input and partner in facilities planning.
  • Responsible for associate satisfaction.
  • Responsible for guest service and satisfaction.
  • Responsible for management and staff development.
  • Ensures staff are properly trained, and training is in place.
  • Responsible for Inventory Management.
  • Performs a minimum of two advisory visits per property annually.
  • Directs and monitors operating and financial performance of assigned properties.
  • Inputs and partners in financial and capital planning, development, analysis, and implementation
  • Team Evaluations.
  • Implements staffing and operational standards.
  • Provides inputs on marketing strategies.
  • Provides direction on Inventory management.
  • Develops POA&M in conjunction with General Manager.
  • Responsible for hiring of General Managers and key staff within the region.
  • Performs the full range of direct and indirect supervisory responsibilities over a team consisting of several associates.
  • Position requires in-state and out-of-state travel 50%25 of the time during the year.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Candidates must be eligible for and obtain a Secret Clearance within 6 months of appointment. Failure to obtain will result in termination.
  • The incumbent of this position must file a Financial Disclosure Report (OGE) Form 450, as required.
