About The Position
FAR Inspections is seeking a reliable independent contractor to perform residential mortgage inspections in Dickenson County, Virginia, and surrounding communities. This role offers the opportunity to earn supplemental or full-time income on your own schedule. FAR Inspections is a leading provider of property data for mortgage lenders nationwide with a 12-year track record of excellence. As a Field Inspector, you will perform brief, exterior visits to confirm property status and report on general conditions. You will manage your own routing, schedule, and territory, with standard inspections typically requiring only 5-6 minutes on-site. The role involves determining property occupancy status, capturing photos, and submitting reports using mobile applications, while maintaining reliability regarding territory coverage and deadlines. This position requires significant driving within a rural county with longer drives between stops, making a fuel-efficient vehicle and comfort with country roads valuable.
Requirements
- Reliable, fuel-efficient vehicle.
- Smartphone (Android or iPhone) capable of running mobile reporting apps.
- Computer with an internet connection and a printer.
- Strong time-management skills to meet deadlines without direct supervision.
- Ability to pass a standard background check.
