Location: Austin, TX Job ID: 46772 HID is looking for a driven, detail-oriented, and motivated professional to join the Global Trade organization. You’ll be expected to perform moderate to complex analysis, reporting, and administrative tasks under the supervision of our Regional Trade Manager, while gaining the skills and experience needed to tackle more complex tasks. You will be involved in daily import transaction activities related to import clearances, broker communication, Duty mitigation, reporting, and other tasks as needed. Check us out here: www.hidglobal.com and https://youtu.be/23km5H4K9Eo As our a Regional Trade Compliance Analyst , you’ll support HID’s success by: Overseeing daily customs clearance activity performed by external customs brokers. Validating and supporting claims under trade programs such as USMCA or other FTA programs. Monitoring broker performance through KPIs (entry timeliness, classification accuracy, invoice accuracy) Providing guidance to brokers regarding product descriptions, tariff codes, and special program eligibility. Conducting periodic audits of broker entries and escalating discrepancies. Supporting post-entry processes (PSC, protests, etc.) to correct or recover duties. Supporting drawback programs to recover duties. Assisting in internal audits and CBP inquiries. Coordinating with procurement, logistics, and engineering to ensure accurate product data is available for classification. Proactively identifying opportunities to reduce duty exposure and improving compliance. Staying current with changes in trade regulations, USMCA rules, CBP notices, and HTS updates. Training internal stakeholders on import compliance best practices and documentation needs

Requirements

  • Bachelor Science or Business Administration in Engineering or Supply Chain related field
  • Combined 2-4 years’ experience in import compliance, trade operations or supply chain in a manufacturing company
  • Working knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations, HTSUS (Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States), USMCA (United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement), and brokered entry processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of trade regulations, tariffs, and preferential trade agreements, import/export policies, and custom clearance procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • LCB preferred but not required.
  • Familiar with FTZ operations is a plus
  • Experience in managing Customs Brokers, familiar with CBP System (ACE)
  • Experience in working with LATAM is a plus
  • Able to detect gaps and implement the needed solutions.
  • Experienced working in a matrixed organization is preferred.
  • Strategic thinkers having problem-solving skills is preferred.
  • Passion for setting and meeting aggressive goals is preferred.
