About The Position

The Regional Support Organizer will support community engagement efforts, volunteer coordination, and campaign implementation across South East Wisconsin in direct supervision and partnership with the region’s team leader. This critical support role is focused on leadership development, outreach to immigrant families and workers with immigration related services, and mobilization for statewide campaigns, including eliminating 287(g), expanding driver’s licenses for all, community defense initiatives such as Know Your Rights workshops, family protection planning, organizing rapid response, and voter education and turnout. This individual must have a valid driver’s license, insurance, and a reliable vehicle.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of relationship-based organizing, leadership development, and team building.
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, databases, and other standard office technology.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive information.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel frequently throughout Wisconsin.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed.
  • The employee is regularly required to sit and use hands.
  • The employee frequently is required to talk or hear.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to focus.
  • The employee must be able to lift and or carry up to 10 lbs occasionally.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong knowledge of VAN is preferred.
  • Experience with digital organizing a plus.
  • Experience in nonprofit, advocacy, or mission-driven organizations preferred.
  • Experience in community organizing, immigrant rights, advocacy, case management, crisis response, volunteer coordination, or related fields preferred.
  • Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, and public presentation skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively in fast-paced environments.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Support organizing efforts with community outreach and relationship building.
  • Assist in organizing and tracking key data such as attendance, memberships and leadership role commitments.
  • Volunteer coordination and facilitation of community trainings.
  • Support regional actions and events for statewide campaigns.
  • Support mobilization efforts.
  • Support logistics relating to scheduling, translation, and childcare as needed for community participation.
  • Other duties as assigned.
