About The Position

The Regional Service Manager - North is responsible for maintaining a high standard of efficiency and effectiveness in the service and maintenance of fleet resources, contributing to the overall profitability of the company. This role operates under the direction of the Regional Operations Manager and in conjunction with operational directives from the Vice President of Operations. The position involves ensuring a safe working environment, establishing and training on preventative maintenance, repair, service, shipping, and receiving procedures. It also includes working with branch managers to implement best practices, coordinating with the Regional Parts Coordinator, performing audits, providing technical support, and overseeing equipment disposal. The role also involves R&D collaboration, branch startups/relocations, monitoring exception reporting, and ensuring compliance with SOX and governmental regulations.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent
Must Have Valid Driver License

Nice To Haves

Ideally, you bring five or more years of related working experience.
Bachelor Degree in related field or Post-secondary education equivalent to one year of Business Management
Work experience in the welding industry can be a substitute for post-secondary education.
Computer experience or basic knowledge of SAP.
Must have or be working towards training certificates by OEM equipment providers. (Miller,Lincoln,Hypertherm,MQ,etc)

Responsibilities

Maintains a safe working environment by following Airgas/Red-D-Arc’s health and safety guidelines.
Assists Director of Service in establishing, publishing and performing training of preventative maintenance procedures for equipment.
Assists Director of Service in establishing, publishing and performing training of cost effective repair and service procedures.
Assists Director of Service in establishing, publishing and performing training of safe and efficient shipping and receiving procedures for all equipment.
Works with Safety Managers to perform shop-related safety training at branches.
Works with Branch Managers in our branches to establish new “best practices” in our shops and ensure they are shared with the Director of Service and other RSMs so that they can be implemented company wide.
Works closely with Regional Parts Coordinator to research parts and maintain accurate parts inventories.
Performs an audit of the service and repair state at each branch at least once a year within the area of responsibility.
Performs on-boarding training for all new technicians within the area of responsibility.
Provides advanced technical support for branches and customers.
Coordinates specialized technical support from manufacturers.
Ensures all service and maintenance records are input appropriately and accurately in company ERP system.
Oversees and works with the director of fleet in the decision making process for the scrapping of all equipment and coordinates their disposal or use for parts.
Works with R&D Manager on new product development.
Participates in the startup or relocation of branches with regards to layout and tooling.
Monitors exception reporting to find and fix service and maintenance problems within the branches.
Complies with all SOX requirements.
Complies with all governmental regulatory requirements.
Implements all operational directives.
Performs other related duties as required.
