About The Position

As a member of the Global Safety and Security team, reporting to Capital’s Manager of Regional Security Services, you will be responsible for implementing and supporting the global safety and security strategy, adapting it as needed to enhance the safety and security of Capital's business operations within specific regions. You will work proactively with key stakeholders, leaders, and partners to identify and mitigate safety and security risks that could impact Capitals’ people, assets and operations. Please note, this role does require you to work out of our New York office, with the expectation of being in office five days a week.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 7+ years in a corporate security, federal law enforcement, military, intelligence, or a security related role with experience in security operations, investigations, risk management, incident response, executive protection, workplace safety and security programs, travel security, and event security.
  • Ability to work/cover on-call responsibilities as well as willingness to react to emergencies as they occur on a 24/7 basis.
  • Experienced with incident response, crisis management, training, workplace violence and internal investigations, and have the ability to maintain control under stressful situations.
  • Professional international travel experience.
  • Knowledge in current and possible future policies, practices, trends, technology and information affecting the department/business area.
  • Proficiency in security system management including intermediate system architecture and advanced knowledge of operational functions and security best practices.
  • Willingness to take the initiative, prioritize projects and problem solve with little supervision, and the ability to maintain control under stressful situations.
  • Experienced with open source and subscription-based monitoring tools.
  • Excellent written and oral communicator, and an effective presenter conducting both group and individual presentations.
  • Sound judgment to independently handle/advise on a wide range of issues and strong relationship management.
  • Ability to manage deliverables independently and with a high degree of efficiency.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and experience conducting risk assessments, maintaining documentation, and managing simultaneous priorities.
  • Demonstrate ownership, accountability, and follow-through while working independently in a fast-paced environment and maintaining regular in-office presence to support regional service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Providing security services, supporting events, and mitigating operational security risks and supporting business operations within designated East Coast offices and the broader region.
  • Overseeing and managing security contractors, external relationship management, office safety and security operations, security incident response and associated documentation and reporting.
  • Managing internal casework and investigations related to workplace violence, threats, theft and fraud cases.
  • Supporting the associate travel security program and partner with vendors that provide global visibility and intelligence.
  • Delivering travel safety briefings, conducting risk assessments, and responding to travel-related concerns that affect associates and senior leaders globally.
  • Conducting event security risk assessments and providing on-site event support to ensure the safety and security of associates, meeting attendees, and Capital’s reputation.
