The Regional Security Manager – North America is responsible for the planning, execution, and oversight of physical security, life-safety, and incident response operations across Western Union’s North American footprint, including corporate offices, retail locations, and critical vendor-managed environments. This role serves as the primary regional security leader, ensuring consistent application of enterprise security standards, effective risk mitigation, and strong partnership with internal stakeholders and external vendors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in corporate or physical security
  • Experience managing security operations across multiple locations or regions.
  • Demonstrated experience working with contract security vendors.
  • Strong understanding of physical security principles and incident management.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to travel (20–30%).
  • At least three years’ experience in in the security area
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience working with access control and video monitoring systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in financial services, payments, retail, or other regulated industries.
  • Experience supporting corporate offices and customer-facing environments.
  • Familiarity with access control and video management systems (e.g., Genetec, CCure, Verkada, etc).
  • Experience supporting executive protection or high-visibility corporate events.
  • Awareness of or experience with Behavioral Threat Assessment and Management (BTAM) principles, workplace violence prevention programs, or participation in cross-functional threat management teams.
  • Professional certifications such as CPP, PSP, or similar preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day physical security operations across North America, including corporate offices, operational facilities, and select retail environments.
  • Implement and enforce Western Union security policies, standards, and procedures at the regional level.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for security incidents, emergencies, and critical events within the region.
  • Conduct and oversee site risk assessments, threat evaluations, and vulnerability reviews.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to provide physical security expertise.
  • Oversee contract guard services, alarm monitoring, access control, and other security vendors.
  • Ensure vendor performance aligns with service-level agreements (SLAs), KPIs, and budget expectations.
  • Support deployment and operation of physical security technologies including access control and video surveillance systems.
  • Support investigations related to theft, workplace violence, threats, or policy violations.
  • Support executive protection, travel security, and high-risk events within North America as required.
  • Maintain accurate reporting, metrics, and dashboards for leadership review.
