The Opportunity: This is not a “manage the status quo” role. This is a chance to help shape the future of CBT’s Kentucky business. We are looking for a proven commercial leader to accelerate growth across Lexington and Louisville while building a disciplined, high-performing regional sales organization. This leader will directly guide both branch and field sales teams while helping strengthen alignment across operations, technical resources, and enterprise leadership. The Regional Sales Manager will play a mission-critical role in driving profitable growth, developing high-performing teams, improving commercial execution, building sales discipline and accountability, and expanding CBT’s market presence across Kentucky. The right person for this role knows how to balance accountability with culture. You understand how to drive execution without creating bureaucracy. You know how to coach people, improve consistency, and lead change while still preserving the entrepreneurial spirit and customer-first mindset that makes great sales organizations successful.

Requirements

  • 7–10+ years of progressive sales leadership experience in industrial distribution, automation, manufacturing, or a comparable B2B environment
  • Proven success leading and developing high-performing sales teams across multiple locations
  • Strong background in pipeline management, forecasting, opportunity qualification, and disciplined sales execution
  • Demonstrated experience coaching sales professionals and developing leaders
  • Experience leading organizational change and cross-functional alignment
  • Strong communication, leadership, and solution-selling capabilities
  • High integrity, strong business acumen, and a customer-first mindset

Responsibilities

  • Build & Develop High-Performing Teams: Coach and develop Account Managers, Inside Sales Representatives, Branch Managers, and supporting teams with a strong focus on growth, accountability, and MAAP discipline. Create a culture built on coaching, feedback, continuous improvement, and performance. Conduct regular opportunity reviews, pipeline discussions, and structured sales coaching sessions. Develop leadership capability within branch leadership and Inside Sales teams.
  • Drive Commercial Execution: Lead branch and field sales execution across the Kentucky region. Drive pipeline management, opportunity qualification, forecasting accuracy, and sales process discipline. Reinforce solution-selling and business qualification best practices focused on delivering real customer value. Improve consistency in CRM utilization, sales execution, and operational alignment across teams.
  • Accelerate Growth & Profitability: Own regional revenue growth, profitability, and overall commercial performance. Develop and execute strategic growth plans to expand CBT’s market presence across Kentucky. Monitor pipeline health, forecasting accuracy, and key commercial KPIs. Drive profitable growth through leadership, coaching, and disciplined execution.
  • Lead Cross-Functional Alignment: Partner and align closely with enterprise leadership teams to ensure consistency with CBT’s broader commercial strategy and seamless customer experience. Lead organizational change initiatives that improve commercial effectiveness while maintaining CBT’s entrepreneurial culture.
