This is a remote opportunity, and the incoming candidate may work from home but will travel extensively (70% or more) within the assigned territory. The territory supported by this role will include North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming, Nebraska, Minnesota, Iowa, and a portion of Kansas. The candidate must live within the territory (Candidates residing in the Greater Minneapolis Area or Greater Kansas City, KS Area are strongly preferred).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 6 years of experience in a related field.
  • A master's degree and 4 years of experience; a Ph.D. and 1 year of experience; or 10 years of experience in a related field.
  • Safe drivers needed; valid driver’s license required.
  • Ability to travel up to 60 - 75% in the assigned territory (region).
  • Must be able to clear a pre-employment drug test.
  • Must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer without current or future sponsorship. No OPT, CPT, STEM/OPT or visa sponsorship now or in future.

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in a related discipline strongly desired (e.g., finance, business, etc.).
  • 5+ years of knowledge of software, advertising, or automotive software sales experience including comparable dealership software packages (CDK, Reynolds and Reynolds, DealerSocket, etc.) and finance software (RouteOne and others).
  • Strong knowledge of the automotive industry, especially automotive dealerships, and the F&I process.
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, relationship-building, collaboration, sales, and territory management skills to work effectively with teams throughout the organization.
  • Ability to use and interpret research and data to help customers find opportunities for improvement.
  • Excellent database management and customer service skills, strong organizational, problem-solving, and multi-tasking skills.
  • Self-motivated and disciplined with an energetic, engaging personality.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for the sales of Dealer.com products to franchise car dealerships.
  • Generating and maximizing sales revenue and increasing customers in a territory.
  • Offering creative solutions to help dealers reach their business objectives.
  • Providing insights on Dealer.com products to internal partners regarding key dealer business challenges.
  • Reinforcing the value of existing Dealer.com and Cox Auto products.
  • Serving as the primary point of contact for Dealer.com.
  • Owning, deepening, and continually building the relationship with the dealers they are responsible for.
  • Using the Cox Auto selling approach to manage and successfully close complex sales opportunities.
  • Using insight and consultative selling techniques to provide feedback to clients on industry trends, strategies, and challenges.
  • Partnering with client stakeholders to build consensus for Cox Automotive Retail Solutions products within their organization.
  • Independently and collaboratively strategizing for solving deal-level challenges.
  • Discussing, presenting, and demonstrating key advantages of the Dealer.com solution to the customer.
  • Meeting or exceeding assigned monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue sales goals as set by the region and/or division.
  • Backfilling open territories or existing territories, as needed.
  • Partnering with Regional Sales Manager to develop customer relationships with new and existing dealers.
  • Building trusted relationships with decision-makers at the dealership, Dealer Principals, Controllers, and General Managers.
  • Frequent travel in designated sales territories and divisions (70% or more).
