About The Position

In this role, you will be responsible for growing sales and strengthening partnerships within the mining sector by engaging with local, regional, and national clients. The primary territory will include British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba. As part of Veolia Water Tech' Mining Market team, you will gain exposure to a range of industries, technologies, and professionals across the globe. This position offers opportunities for growth within the department and across Veolia’s businesses.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, environmental sciences, water treatment, or a related field.
• 6 to 8 years of experience in technical sales, business development, engineering, or a related commercial role.
• Experience with water treatment, wastewater treatment, environmental services, industrial processes, or related technical solutions.
• Strong understanding of water treatment technologies and their applications in mining or other industrial operations.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace.
• Experience using CRM systems is required; knowledge of Salesforce is an asset.
• Strong sales, negotiation, presentation, communication, organization, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with technical, engineering, commercial, and operational teams.
• Approximately 60% travel is required for business purposes.
• Regional travel will include driving, with occasional air travel as needed.
• Must be available to attend conventions, conferences, trade shows, and industry events, including occasional weekend events.
• Must hold a valid full class driver’s licence.
• Must be comfortable working flexible schedule, including from home, client sites, Veolia offices, and industry events.
• This is a performance-driven role with expectations related to sales growth and business development results.

Responsibilities

• Promote Veolia’s water and wastewater treatment products and services within the mining sector.
• Manage sales activities across the assigned territory, generate leads, and achieve sales objectives.
• Visit clients to understand their operational needs and develop tailored solutions.
• Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers, consulting engineers, contractors, and other industry stakeholders.
• Develop commercial strategies and identify new market opportunities in collaboration with management.
• Represent Veolia at conferences, trade shows, industry associations, and other business development events.
• Lead the proposal process from development through contract negotiation, working closely with tendering and engineering teams.
• Prepare budgets, proposals, and presentations, and follow up on bids to maximize conversion.
• Manage customer expectations, address objections, and maintain high levels of client satisfaction.
• Identify cross-selling opportunities across Veolia’s business lines.
• Maintain an active and balanced sales pipeline and lead opportunities through the full sales cycle.
• Prepare monthly activity and opportunity reports, maintain accurate CRM records, and provide regular sales forecasts.
• Monitor and communicate market intelligence, including competitor activity, customer needs, and industry trends.
