As an Regional Sales Director (RSD), you'll be responsible for the Central and Eastern region sales teams and for developing and implementing the sales strategy with VP of Sales and operational leaders. The RSM will focus on driving the sales team’s efforts to identify and develop revenue generating client relationships for the Houston and Richmond laboratories and includes the Gulf coast, Southeast and Eastern regions of the US. Promoting and exemplifying leadership, continuous improvement, integrity, financial responsibility, and supporting a high standard for ethical conduct are key responsibilities of this position. The RSM will work closely with a strong team of committed professionals.

Requirements

  • Experience in environmental sales environment, business development, presenting to small, medium and large audiences, with technical degree/experience
  • Ability to travel 50%-75%
  • Ability to interface with cross-functional teams and all levels of personnel/management
  • Bachelor's degree in biology, Environmental Engineering, Environmental, Health and Safety, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Toxicology or other related science
  • Positive and resilient in challenging and high paced environments; you do the job that’s needed, without being asked, and you anticipate problems and have a plan
  • A self-starter with exceptional time management skills and the ability to thrive in a remote work environment; you can step up and lead when you need to
  • A strong communicator and influencer; you get to the point and tell it straight
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within a matrix reporting structure

Responsibilities

  • Grow the pipeline through the identification and qualification of new business opportunities that are consistent with strategic priorities in a manner that takes full advantage of the entire company’s capabilities
  • Schedule sales appointments with prospects and clients, coordinate meetings, host presentations and webinars, and travel with BDMs and subject matter experts (SME)
  • Attend conferences and trade shows to represent Enthalpy Analytical
  • Prospect, identify and assign strategic accounts for the Houston Laboratory market, including Key Client Accounts
  • Represent effectively with comprehensive knowledge of our offerings
  • Research consumer needs and identify how our solutions address them
  • Hire, train, motivate, and advise a team of sales representatives to identify new accounts and develop
  • Achieve company objectives by planning thoroughly, setting sales goals, analyzing performance data, and reporting to VP and Ops in quarterly report
  • Develop skills continuously for hiring, training, and leading team members, and ensure that they're using effective sales tactics to meet revenue objectives
  • Forge strong working relationships with his/her peers and direct reports to ensure the execution of sales strategies and initiatives to attain the sales revenue goals and profitability in accordance with the agreed upon sales plan
  • Thrive in a sales culture with a “hunter” mentality while instituting infrastructure, and process changes focused on generating greater organic growth
  • Manage the relationships with the current and future customer base to create new ways to add value for customers through add-on services currently not offered
  • Lead, hire, and develop direct reports to ensure that the sales organization has a deep bench of capable management talent
  • Maintain the company CRM (Salesforce) with all leads, opportunities, prospects, customers, etc. to track metrics, share analysis and insights with leaders to drive activity and support the overall health of the business
  • Support the development of strategies that improve the quality and depth of market and competitor intelligence to influence and enhance win probability
  • Conduct and support marketing events/client engagement activities to strengthen our relationships with our clients and increase our understanding of their needs
  • Participate in and lead training for career development, safety and maintaining required certifications within the sales team
