Requirements

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related area, or four to six years related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of three years in company purchasing or related area.
  • Must possess excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Must be extremely numbers-oriented and computer-literate.
  • Must have ability to learn purchasing software system or have previous experience with MMS/Infor.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises, trains, counsels and evaluates all subordinates.
  • Trains all system users on purchasing software and procedures.
  • Coordinates with managers for New York State MWBE compliance on qualifying purchases and projects.
  • Coordinates and submits New York State Vendor applications for approval.
  • Ensures that all vendors are tracked for easy reference for Management and Security based on Internal Controls.
  • Ensures compliance of all subordinates to both company and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Review all proposed and received orders to ensure vendor compliance and recommend vendor changes when necessary.
  • Ensure that all purchase requests have been approved in accordance with authorized approval levels.
  • Prepare and process purchase orders to comply with established purchasing procedures and maintain appropriate files.
  • Ensure that all purchase terms and discounts are adhered to.
  • Work with vendors to ensure the quality of goods purchased meets the Company’s standards.
  • Coordinates and processes all Return-To-Vendor requests.
  • Processes all claims for damaged goods received.
  • Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record.
  • All other duties as assigned.
