The Regional Strategic Procurement Partner for the MSD Division leads the development and implementation of the supply base strategy for a specific region (EMEA/NA/Asia). This role involves leading cross-functional project teams and coordinating transformation projects, performance tracking, improvement, and risk management. The goal is to align procurement projects with business objectives to drive growth and sustainable business results.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or a technical field.
  • 5+ years of procurement/sourcing experience with growing global responsibility in a large matrixed company.
  • Good business insight and the ability to translate sourcing functions into meaningful business value.
  • Experience in highly supervised industries.
  • Consistent track record in a continuous improvement environment
  • Ability to influence and lead cross-functional, geographically dispersed teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or an MBA.
  • Hands-on experience in procurement, manufacturing, and/or supply chain.
  • Experience in life sciences, medical device, or pharmaceutical industries.

Responsibilities

  • Support the MSD procurement transformation roadmap to achieve World-Class supply base performance, including risk management, margin improvement, innovation, and supplier performance in region.
  • Support the development of the regional long-term supply strategy for MSD with a focus on identifying and partnering with key technology suppliers to secure alignment with business goals and ambitions.
  • Execute targeted supply base transformation programs where productivity, new technologies are sourced at manageable risk profiles.
  • Participate in all aspects of the identification, qualification, and performance management of the division’s supply base and drive targeted supplier development programs.
  • Secure alignment between business procurement and category strategies to meet business needs and sourcing goals.
  • Collaborate with Thermo Fisher enterprise functions as well as engage with business leaders to secure sponsorship and resources for mission critical supply base projects.
