The Regional Patient Advocate is responsible to screen patients on-site at hospitals for eligibility assistance programs. They travel within an assigned region to provide additional coverage as needed, and to cover for Representatives who are ill, on leave, or out of the office for any reason. This role requires the ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, with accommodations made for individuals with disabilities. The advocate will provide information and reports to client contacts, potentially resolve a small workload of accounts, and cover facilities when onsite representatives are unavailable. A key function is screening patients for State, County, and Federal eligibility assistance programs, initiating the application process, identifying patient needs, and introducing Firstsource services. The role also involves documenting patient information, informing hospital staff of available assistance, and conducting patient home visits as required. Maintaining positive working relationships with hospital staff, accessing patient information for the Patient Advocate Specialist, and adhering to company policies and the Corporate Compliance program are also essential.
