About The Position

Red Wine & Blue is seeking a Regional Organizer to engage women, expand networks, and encourage organizing in suburban communities within the Central North Carolina area between Forsyth and Wake counties. This role involves serving as the on-the-ground presence for Red Wine & Blue, growing the supporter base through events and campaigns, spreading awareness through direct contact and social media, and engaging with community members and voters. The organizer will also research organizations, build coalitions, stay informed on political issues and legislation, and organize/participate in events. Additionally, the role includes creating and appearing in digital content, managing social media, supporting media opportunities, and collaborating with the organizing team. Administrative duties involve tracking metrics, managing data in EveryAction, and developing a weekly schedule. This is a full-time, exempt position based out of the organizer's home office, requiring frequent local or in-state travel.

Requirements

  • Strong interpersonal, communication and data skills
  • Vast network in targeted counties and beyond
  • Ability to confidently speak in front of both small and large groups
  • Ability to work some nights and weekends as needed for events
  • Experience using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) is preferred
  • Previous experience with EveryAction CRM is highly preferred
  • Willingness to learn new systems and utilize technology to support working smarter, not harder
  • Work effectively with people of all ages, backgrounds, and perspectives
  • Comfortable navigating sometimes ambiguous work with competing priorities
  • Nimble and can effectively shift focus when the need arises

Responsibilities

  • Serve as RWB’s on-the-ground presence by growing our supporter base through statewide events and org-wide campaigns, programs and initiatives
  • Spread the word about RWB in targeted suburban communities through direct contact, social media and local events
  • Engage directly with community members, volunteers, and voters to maintain strong relationships and keep supporters updated on RWB initiatives
  • Research organizations and build coalitions with key groups in your area to expand RWB’s reach for the next election cycle
  • Stay informed and knowledgeable of local and statewide political issues, legislation and monitor local races and potential candidates for office, keeping state leaders up-to-date on happenings in your region
  • Organize and participate in both in-person and virtual events to foster community, increase engagement, and drive awareness of RWB’s mission
  • Train local women on organizing techniques and give them the confidence to become politically active and engaged
  • Research key organizations and political groups in your area, building coalitions to expand RWB’s reach
  • Stay informed on local and statewide issues, legislation, and upcoming races, and keep state team leaders updated on relevant developments in your region
  • Participate and appear on camera and in digital content for RWB’s online channels, including videos, virtual events, and social media posts
  • Manage state social media pages and support media opportunities through interviews and public outreach
  • Support earned media opportunities by participating in interviews with media outlets
  • Collaborate with the organizing team for national and statewide events
  • Maintain regular communication with the State and Deputy Program Directors, and seek support when needed
  • Track your work through metrics and data
  • Develop a weekly schedule that prioritizes time for community engagement as well as event planning, while ensuring timely completion of administrative responsibilities, such as updating EveryAction and completing data entry
  • Support the RWB organizing team with national and statewide events and attend internal state- and all-team meetings
  • Other duties as assigned
