About The Position

Mass Audubon is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Regional Marketing and Communications Associate who will be responsible for the marketing and communications of several wildlife sanctuaries including, but not limited to, Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary, Joppa Flats Education Center, Pawtucket Farm Wildlife Sanctuary, and Endicott Wildlife Sanctuary, which houses Ipswich River Nature Preschool. Additionally, this individual may be tasked with supporting communications for additional projects as needed. This full-time position will be a hybrid of remote work (50%) and working out of Topsfield and Newburyport (50%), with regular travel to Lincoln, Lowell, and Wenham.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or commensurate experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups, exercise cultural humility, and implement best practices in inclusion
  • Excellent project management skills including facilitating collaborative content generation
  • Experience managing social media accounts
  • Ability to work as an effective team member, as well as independently
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop)
  • Ability to multi-task, pay attention to detail, and meet deadlines
  • Flexibility and willingness to pitch in as needed
  • Experience taking marketing-quality photographs

Responsibilities

  • Identify sanctuary- and regionally-based stories that will inspire people to visit, attend a program, become a member, and donate
  • Manage site-based Facebook and Instagram accounts and produce regular content that both engages and promotes
  • Produce regular enews as well as one-off emails, as needed
  • Provide local PR support in coordination with Public Relations Director
  • Provide strategic input on public programs and editorial direction on program descriptions; promote programs via owned and external channels
  • Monitor and maintain appropriate signage in partnership with Visitor Experience Manager
  • Keep sanctuary webpages up-to-date, including creating news stories as needed that promote visitation and programs while also highlighting sanctuary work related to Mass Audubon’s mission
  • Ensure image collection is up to date, adding new imagery to fill gaps while removing old images that are no longer needed
  • Attend weekend and/or evening special events to capture stories, video, and photos as needed
  • Coordinate with Design Manager on any design needs, including but not limited to flyers, posters, graphics, postcards, etc.
