About The Position

This role supports AON Central Services Departments and AON clinics in the Eastern Region. The Regional Manager, Pharmacy Operations, plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth functioning of clinic pharmacies under AON’s policy and procedure framework, alongside national practice standards. Responsibilities encompass various facets, including regulatory compliance, quality assurance, operational efficiency, and pharmacy information systems management. Closely monitor adherence to policies and procedures, utilizing remote reporting metrics and on-site assessments to uphold regulatory standards, particularly in sterile compounding. Additionally, staying abreast of regulatory changes impacting pharmacy operations across states will be crucial. Will serve as a key liaison during mergers and acquisitions, proactively addressing process deficiencies through strategic action plans. Coordinate pharmacy transition activities and overseeing inventory management to support the company's financial objectives will be paramount. In collaboration with other leaders, will also be actively involved in various initiatives supporting and leading projects from initiation to completion.

Requirements

Recent experience in pharmacy supervision/management, including admixture operations.
College degree (AS, AA or Higher) in Business/Health Care Administration, preferred.
In lieu of degree, 4+ years of experience is required or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of 3 years Pharmacy Operations/Compliance Management required.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a pharmacy/clinical setting where sterile and hazardous drugs are handled.
Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT), Required
Valid state Driver’s License for travel to satellite offices and offsite meetings. Compliance with the company Driver Safety Operations and Motor Vehicle Records Check Policy is required.
Critical thinking skills including solid problem solving, analysis, decision-making, planning, time management and organizational skills. Must be detailed oriented with the ability to exercise independent judgment.
Ability to work effectively with sensitive and confidential material and sometimes emotionally charged matters.

Nice To Haves

Experience working within a community oncology practice, multiple-site management/support, or multi-state experience a plus.
Experience with drug dispensing cabinets (Nucleus, Lynx, etc) including their operating system a plus.
Experience managing, supporting, and mentoring pharmacy staff a plus.
Experience in Mergers and Acquisitions preferred.
Experience in Pharmacy Regulations (USP 797, 800), Highly preferred.
Advanced Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT-Adv) preferred.
Compounded Sterile Preparation Technician (CSPT), preferred.
Data Analysis Experience Highly preferred.

Responsibilities

Monitor compliance to pharmacy operation policies and procedures, provide consultation to senior management on compliance measures and accountabilities.
Develop measurement plans, together with team assignments and accountabilities.
Investigates and resolves operational issues impacting clinic pharmacies.
As a pharmacy operations business partner, will work alongside nursing leadership to provide education and guidance to clinical nurse managers in their role supervising clinic pharmacy operations.
In partnership with regional leadership, will provide routine clinic assessment of the pharmacy practice standards, policies, and procedures, both in person and remotely.
Conducts assessments of clinic pharmacies prior to go-live, identifies gaps in practice and implements action plans to bridge these gaps to help ensure successful transitions.
Provides leadership and team preparedness to pharmacy transition associates by assigning and ensuring completion of activities that support incoming practices.
Will support and lead the transition associates and supervisor in quality assurance of drug procurement activities related to buy-and-bill, compassionate, and non-billable items.
Will be responsible for addressing pharmacy operations issues during M&A.
Demonstrate a thorough and accurate knowledge of pharmacy practice, including but not limited to: Sterile Compounding, Handling of hazardous drugs, medical safety, State and Federal laws, etc.
Stay current in pharmacy education/practice through professional development, involvement in professional organizations, and attending professional meetings, conferences, or workshops.
Responsible for the ongoing development of AON’s Pharmacy Training Program, including competency testing.
Work alongside pharmacy operations management to develop, maintain, and communicate department policies and procedures.
Responsible for reviewing metrics to identify trends or areas of focus and work to develop, document, and implement action plans to address issues.
Develops and implements practice specific process improvement recommendations to secure positive results monitor performance and improvement resolution plans for unfavorable trends.
Responsible for managing nucleus drug formularies and dispense notes in collaborating with clinical pharmacists and ensure the maintenance of drug reference lists.
Work alongside clinics and oncology supply to triage and resolve Nucleus OS issues.
Develop, maintain, and ensure the build and quality of clinical, operational, and financial dashboards, scorecards, screening tools, and surveillance tools to guide the achievement of treatment and strategic goals.
Manages weekly/monthly automation reports, including medication activities/dispenses, clinic charges, and waste reports in order to ensure pharmacy operations compliance.
Responsible for ensuring maximized utilization of spoilage replacement/reimbursement programs.
Work alongside cross- functional groups (i.e., Procurement, IT, Billing, Rev. Cycle, Human Resources, etc.) in address process deficiencies.
Will perform regular audits of drug dispense data (Jcodes, NDCs, in conjunction with the revenue cycle leaders to ensure quality and accuracy of dispense data, outbound claims, and EMR ecosystems.
Identify safety and cost saving issues on pharmacy operations to implement appropriate corrective action plans. Collect information on the areas of pharmacy operations against expectations and project baselines.
