Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from a four-year ABET-accredited college or university.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States now or in the future without employer sponsorship.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Eight or more years of experience as a Technical Lead or Project Manager.
  • Strong communicator demonstrating openness and transparency.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Engineering (PE) certification preferred.
  • Experience in Engineering or Automation Consulting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and support clients in the Raleigh Metro region with the goal of growing the business.
  • Assure the safety and welfare of the individuals within the department by making necessary arrangements for safety equipment, office equipment, safe transportation to and from job sites, and creating an awareness of plant safety requirements.
  • Provide the training and technical direction necessary to develop department personnel to meet personal goals and client's requirements.
  • Direct duties associated with employee relations consistent with established policies and procedures to include: salary administration, personnel policy awareness, corporate policy awareness, performance appraisals, and employee counseling.
  • Administer budgets, maintaining sensitivity to the interaction of projected sales to actual sales and project budgets to actual available funds for the realization of Matrix’s corporate profit objectives.
  • Provide specifications and standards necessary to efficiently design and develop effective project documents to include standard drawings for increased efficiency and consistency.
  • Assure technical accuracy and soundness of engineering practices based on sound design criteria, specifications, and standards as related to the project requirements.
  • Develop a plan of action and implement a plan for regular maintenance of present clients.
  • Develop a promotional plan to promote prospective clients consistent with the marketing plan and departmental goals.
  • Maintain accurate records concerning backlog of projects that are successfully obtained and of proposals that are outstanding.
  • Develop departmental goals and objectives consistent with the Matrix’s corporate goals and marketing plan for identification of expertise required, manpower required, yearly budgets, yearly sales, goals, etc.
  • Provide technical expertise within the department to meet the project and client requirements within each category--project engineers, project leaders, engineers, designers, draftpersons, and junior draftpersons.
  • Act as an engineering consultant in your discipline, providing expertise as required. Inherent to this requirement is keeping up to date on the latest developments in products and technologies.
  • Develop action plans with project managers for the efficient usage of personnel and effective methods of design.
  • May be assigned to manage projects.
  • Works in a safe manner at all times. Adheres to both Matrix and client-established safety standards when appropriate.
