About The Position

Workout Anytime is seeking a skilled, dependable, and self-motivated Traveling Maintenance Technician to support the maintenance and repair of our Tennessee fitness clubs. This position is responsible for maintaining safe, clean, fully operational facilities while ensuring an exceptional member experience. The technician will routinely travel between the following Tennessee locations: Spring Hill, Hermitage, Smyrna, Cookeville, Crossville, Morristown, Hixson. This role requires a hands-on individual with strong mechanical aptitude who can independently diagnose and repair facility systems, commercial fitness equipment, and club amenities while maintaining company standards.

  • Experience with plumbing, lighting, electrical fixtures, drywall, flooring, painting, ceilings, doors, locks, windows, and general building components.
  • Experience repairing and maintaining locker rooms, restrooms, showers, sinks, toilets, water heaters, and plumbing fixtures.
  • Experience maintaining HVAC filters, thermostats, exhaust fans, and basic HVAC troubleshooting.
  • Experience repairing interior and exterior building finishes.
  • Experience ensuring emergency exits, lighting, signage, and safety equipment remain operational and compliant.
  • Experience inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on commercial fitness equipment.
  • Experience with lubrication and preventative maintenance for fitness equipment.
  • Experience with belt tracking and replacement for fitness equipment.
  • Experience with cable replacement for fitness equipment.
  • Experience with pulley and bearing replacement for fitness equipment.
  • Experience with console troubleshooting for fitness equipment.
  • Experience with mechanical adjustments for fitness equipment.
  • Experience with equipment calibration for fitness equipment.
  • Experience with warranty repair coordination with manufacturers for fitness equipment.
  • Experience maintaining and repairing premium member amenities including: HydroMassage lounges and beds, Tanning beds and tanning booths, Infrared and traditional saunas, Massage chairs, Water bottle filling stations and drinking fountains, Television systems, Club audio systems, Member charging stations.
  • Experience replacing tanning lamps and acrylics.
  • Experience maintaining cooling systems and ventilation for tanning equipment.
  • Experience troubleshooting HydroMassage electronics and mechanical systems.
  • Experience maintaining sauna heaters, controls, timers, benches, lighting, and ventilation.
  • Experience coordinating manufacturer service when specialty repairs are required for amenities.
  • Ability to respond promptly to maintenance requests.
  • Ability to prioritize emergency repairs.
  • Ability to assist with club remodels, equipment installations, flooring projects, and facility upgrades.
  • Ability to assemble and install new commercial fitness equipment.
  • Ability to coordinate with outside vendors and contractors.
  • Ability to assist with emergency maintenance after hours when operationally required.
  • Experience maintaining and troubleshooting: Electronic door access systems, Member entry scanners, Security cameras, Alarm systems, Basic networking equipment, Wi-Fi access points, Television displays, Digital signage, Music systems.
  • Ability to complete all assigned work orders accurately and timely.
  • Ability to document repairs, preventative maintenance, and parts used.
  • Ability to maintain inventory of repair materials and commonly used replacement parts.
  • Ability to recommend capital improvements and replacement equipment.
  • Ability to communicate repair status and project updates.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs to all club facilities.
  • Troubleshoot and repair plumbing, lighting, electrical fixtures, drywall, flooring, painting, ceilings, doors, locks, windows, and general building components.
  • Repair and maintain locker rooms, restrooms, showers, sinks, toilets, water heaters, and plumbing fixtures.
  • Maintain HVAC filters, thermostats, exhaust fans, and assist with basic HVAC troubleshooting.
  • Repair interior and exterior building finishes while maintaining a professional appearance throughout each club.
  • Ensure all emergency exits, lighting, signage, and safety equipment remain operational and compliant.
  • Inspect, diagnose, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on commercial fitness equipment including: Matrix treadmills, Ellipticals, Upright and recumbent bikes, Stair climbers, Rowers, Functional trainers, Cable crossover systems, Selectorized strength equipment, Plate-loaded equipment, Smith machines, Benches and racks, Free weight equipment.
  • Lubrication and preventative maintenance for fitness equipment.
  • Belt tracking and replacement for fitness equipment.
  • Cable replacement for fitness equipment.
  • Pulley and bearing replacement for fitness equipment.
  • Console troubleshooting for fitness equipment.
  • Mechanical adjustments for fitness equipment.
  • Equipment calibration for fitness equipment.

  • Assist with club remodels, equipment installations, flooring projects, and facility upgrades.
  • Assemble and install new commercial fitness equipment.
  • Coordinate with outside vendors and contractors as necessary.
  • Assist with emergency maintenance after hours when operationally required.

  • Coordinate with approved vendors when repairs exceed internal capabilities.
  • Complete all assigned work orders accurately and timely.

  • Recommend capital improvements and replacement equipment when appropriate.
  • Communicate repair status and project updates to club management and the Director of Operations.
