Regional Maintenance Supervisor/Project Manager

About The Position

Fairmont Management is looking for an experienced multifamily maintenance leader ready to take the next step into regional leadership and capital project management. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who knows apartment buildings, understands how work should flow, and can see the bigger picture. You'll serve as a go-to technical resource for our maintenance teams while managing repair, renovation and capital improvement projects across our portfolio.

Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years progressive multifamily maintenance experience, including supervision.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Ability to quickly prioritized conflicting demands
  • Knowledge of multi-family contracting procedures
  • Able to stand, bend, reach, climb stairs, stoop and lift up to 50 lbs. for a full workday
  • Possess multi-limb and hand-eye coordination
  • Able to sit at desk, and use a computer and phone for a full workday
  • Travel to all properties in Fairmont portfolio
  • Maintain a valid California driver’s license and auto insurance
  • Authorized to work in the United States

  • Strong planning, organization and follow-through
  • Excellent judgment, communication and relationship-building skills
  • A safety-first mindset and a strong sense of ownership
  • Strong technical fundamentals, leadership ability, curiosity and good judgment.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot challenging plumbing, electrical, water intrusion and other maintenance issues
  • Help maintenance teams diagnose root causes and develop the right repair plan in the right sequence
  • Train, coach and support maintenance supervisors and technicians
  • Promote strong safety, preventative maintenance and operational practices
  • Evaluate vendor recommendations and determine whether the proposed solution makes sense
  • Obtain and organize proposals into clear apples-to-apples comparisons with recommendations for management and ownership
  • Manage capital projects from scope and bidding through construction and closeout
  • Monitor contractors for schedule, scope, quality and workmanship
  • Help drive consistent use of our maintenance/property management software as our system of record
