About The Position

As a partner in building brighter futures for youth and their families, your role will be to assist with and facilitate the maintenance processes at your assigned business locations that align with The Village Network’s Mission, Vision & Values. This role involves performing facility repair/remodeling/construction tasks, conducting inspections, coordinating office moves, overseeing subcontractors, and managing maintenance requests through the FMX system. The position requires prioritizing tasks and travel to locations based on need and coordination with local staff, as well as procuring necessary supplies and tools.

Requirements

  • High School Degree/GED
  • Vocational training, apprenticeship, or previous experience in plumbing, electrical work, or other related maintenance areas is necessary
  • Basic reading, writing, and math skills required to read reports, perform maintenance duties, etc.
  • Must keep current with maintenance knowledge.
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Valid Ohio Driver’s License and maintains a driving record that allows that individual to be insurable with the insurance company providing The Village Network with vehicle insurance.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Coursework/ training associated with fire safety or fire science is helpful, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Performs facility repair/remodeling/construction tasks as needed.
  • Conducts facility and vehicle inspections to ensure safety and good condition of TVN facilities and vehicles.
  • Coordinates office moves and adjustments including the acquisition and placement of furniture and coordination of moving companies.
  • Coordinates fire inspections in all locations and ensures compliance with fire code.
  • Coordinates and oversees sub contractors working on TVN facilities and vehicles ensuring tasks are being addressed properly and efficiently.
  • Manages all maintenance requests, reoccurring inspections, vehicle requests and maintenance preformed through the FMX maintenance tracking system.
  • Prioritizes tasks and travel to locations based on need and coordination with local staff.
  • Procures needed supplies and tools from designated suppliers for maintenance tasks.
  • Performs other tasks as necessary.
  • Performs general inspections and light maintenance on vehicles & equipment using wrenches, air tools, jacks, and other hand tools.
  • Repairs and installs switches, outlets, wiring, and appliances using testers, pliers, and other hand tools.
  • Repairs and replaces filters, belts, motors, components, and controls for heating & cooling systems using wrenches and other hand tools.
  • Repairs and installs plumbing fixtures, facilities equipment, and pipes using wrenches, snakes, and other hand tools.
  • Repairs and/or constructs furniture, doors, windows, masonry, flooring, roofing, etc. using saws, drills, hammers, levels, chisels, and other hand/power tools.
  • Prepares surfaces for finishing/refinishing and applies paints, stains, and varnishes to buildings and equipment using brushes, rollers, sprayers, and ladders.
  • Inspects assigned buildings, grounds, etc for condition, life safety items and needed repairs.
  • Works on call as required to address emergency maintenance needs.
