Regional Junior Field Technician (West Region)
About The Position
Smart Automotive of Davenport, part of the Gurley Leep Automotive Family, is seeking an entry-level Regional Junior Field Tech. This Tier 1 position is responsible for providing essential IT support across various dealerships in the Davenport or Des Moines, Iowa area. The role begins with a 180-day probationary contract, with a strong potential for conversion to a full-time position based on performance and business needs. The company emphasizes a close-knit work family environment and welcomes talented individuals interested in joining their team, from technicians to management.
Requirements
- Entry-level experience in IT support or related field
- High school diploma or GED required
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent customer service orientation and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable transportation for travel within the Davenport/Des Moines service area
- Must have a valid driver’s license and pass a motor vehicle records check
Nice To Haves
- IT-related associate degree or technical certification preferred
- Basic knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications
- Familiarity with Active Directory, Office 365, or networking concepts
- Previous customer-facing technical support experience
- Experience with computer imaging, deployment, and hardware replacement.
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record
Responsibilities
- Perform basic troubleshooting for hardware, software, office applications, and network connectivity issues including WAN/LAN, and printers
- Deliver excellent customer service to end users across multiple dealership locations
- Build strong relationships with dealership department heads
- Conduct wellness checks and proactive support visits to assigned locations
- Complete required training
- Resolve routine tickets independently while maintaining positive user feedback
