About The Position
Kunes Auto Group is seeking an IT Specialist to provide both onsite and remote support for their NW Illinois/SW Wisconsin dealerships. This position is field-based and will use a combination of a company-issued vehicle or reimbursed mileage if a personal vehicle is used. Some overnight travel may be required, but only a few days a year at most. The role involves supporting dealerships within a 25-100 mile regional radius.
Requirements
- 3+ years of IT support experience, preferably in a multi-site environment required.
- Associate degree or equivalent hands-on experience in an IT-related field.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong communication, organization, and customer-service skills.
- Broad knowledge across multiple IT Systems (hardware, networking, security, software, etc.).
- Valid driver’s license and comfort traveling within the assigned region.
Responsibilities
- Provide onsite and remote IT support for dealership locations within a 25–100 mile regional radius using a company-issued vehicle or mileage reimbursement.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network connectivity issues (wired and wireless).
- Manage and resolve Help Desk tickets in a timely, professional manner.
- Deploy and maintain IT assets, workstations, and infrastructure hardware.
- Install, configure, and maintain network devices, firewalls, antivirus, and security systems.
- Perform system upgrades and software installations.
- Collaborate with end users, other IT Specialists, and regional IT leadership.
- Occasional out-of-town travel for specialized projects (maybe a few times per year).
