About the role: Ensure Maersk has market competitive in pricing and access to capacity advantage through a defined procurement strategy(strategic and tactical) pertaining to Air and Ground suppliers. Manages, nurtures and develops close relationships with Air and Ground Carriers.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required
  • 8-10 years direct experience in the procurement of Air pricing and capacity, including client interaction experience
  • Enhanced negotiation skills
  • Knowledge of Air Freight Station and gateway operations
  • Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor Degree in Business or related field preferred

Responsibilities

  • Consistently reviews current gateway capacity planning to ensure carrier allocations are sufficient and pricing best in class.
  • Conducts cyclical procurement initiatives with Air and Ground service providers
  • Develop tactical buying strategy for large AD HOC opportunities
  • Key participant in new business implementation to ensure access to new / additional capacity and the negotiation of pricing to ensure clients and boarded in a service orientated, profitable manner
  • Supports sales organization in both client development and closing cycle.
  • Acts as air Product Specialist in in client QBRs
  • Determines optimal import routings based on joint collaboration with origin
  • Participates in regional / global projects on demand
  • Manage warehouse operations oversight and governance for all air products into each branch.
