About The Position

The Regional Float Registered Nurse Med Surg delivers comprehensive, direct nursing care across multiple Ascension sites in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The nurse works in a varied healthcare setting and follows organizational policies, procedures, and protocols. The role includes developing, implementing, and monitoring individualized patient care plans; documenting and communicating patient conditions; coordinating care across disciplines; executing physician and nursing orders; and collaborating with the healthcare team to assess and coordinate patient care requirements. This is a full-time night-shift position in Float Staffing.

Requirements

• BLS Provider certification obtained within 30 days of hire or job transfer; American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Registered Nurse credential from the Wisconsin Board of Nursing obtained before hire or job transfer, or a current home-state license if considered a multi-state/Compact State.
• Diploma from an accredited school or college of nursing, or required professional licensure at the time of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification; American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive, direct nursing care in a varied healthcare setting while following organizational policies, procedures, and protocols.
• Develop, implement, and continuously monitor individualized patient care plans.
• Accurately record and communicate the patient's condition as necessary.
• Coordinate care across disciplines to ensure seamless, integrated patient care.
• Promptly document and execute physician and nursing orders.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to assess and coordinate all aspects of patient care requirements.
