About The Position

Legacy Restoration LLC is seeking a dedicated full-time Regional Field Safety Specialist in Des Moines, IA. This role is crucial in shaping a culture of safety and excellence across construction projects. The position involves approximately 80% field work and 20% office work, with typical hours from Monday to Friday, 7 am to 7 pm. Responsibilities include identifying and documenting onsite risks, conducting hazard analyses, evaluating equipment needs, participating in project meetings, assisting with incident investigations, and ensuring accurate injury documentation. The specialist will also support subcontractor evaluations, address non-compliant procedures, present toolbox talks, and update leadership on safety program progress.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years of construction or safety experience
  • Good driving record, vehicle insurance, and reliable vehicle
  • Ability to identify onsite project risks and recommend mitigation within safety and project program requirements
  • General knowledge of construction site equipment, methods, and processes
  • Ability to take on special tasks or projects with limited direction and oversight, as well as take ownership of assigned tasks, as defined by supervisor
  • Strong multitasking, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Growing knowledge to control or eliminate hazards following the company's methods
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening test

Nice To Haves

  • A bachelor's degree in organizational health and safety or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and document onsite risks or discrepancies during daily site walks.
  • Complete thorough hazard analyses using company protocols.
  • Evaluate equipment needs.
  • Participate in daily and weekly meetings with project teams.
  • Assist in investigations and reporting for any incidents that occur.
  • Work closely with work crews, ensuring that injuries are accurately documented.
  • Support the evaluation of subcontractors and their practices.
  • Notify management of non-compliant procedures and participate in finding timely solutions.
  • Present toolbox talks.
  • Update leadership on the progress of the safety program.
