About The Position

At Apple Montessori Schools, each of our 21 locations has a unique design and footprint. As a Regional Facilities Coordinator/Technician, you will be overseeing a portfolio of 8-10 locations and will be responsible for the day-to-day management of all facilities needs within that portfolio. You will be the owner of these needs, ensuring that all requests are prioritized accordingly and handled quickly and professionally, working alongside the school leadership team. This role covers locations in East Windsor, Shrewsbury, Hillsborough, Edison, Metuchen, Warren, Westfield, Princeton, Mount Laurel, NJ, and soon to come PA.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, General Education Development (GED) or equivalent.
  • Experience in general maintenance – painting, plumbing, electric, and basic carpentry.
  • Proven track record of working on a variety of commercial construction projects.
  • Ability to successfully coordinate schedules and evaluate bids/job costs.
  • Ability to grasp new concepts quickly and efficiently.
  • Experience navigating permitting processes and building codes; solid understanding of building plans and specs and the ability to maintain and interpret construction drawings.
  • Must have own work vehicle.
  • Must have valid driver's license and insurance.
  • Must provide own tools.
  • Computer literacy in Word, Excel, Outlook and web-based applications, and proficient in the use of office equipment.
  • Must live in the NJ/NY/PA Market.
  • Must be able to travel to school locations daily.

Nice To Haves

  • Established relationships with regional vendors.
  • Working knowledge of Monday.com.
  • Certified Pool Operating License (CPO) or willing to obtain.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and repair minor building issues throughout the network.
  • Perform maintenance tasks on building equipment and throughout the property.
  • Organize and maintain facility storage.
  • Organize proposals and facilitate contracts for 3rd party maintenance and capital improvement projects as needed.
  • Triage maintenance tasks to determine associated timelines, costs, and vendor collaboration.
  • Utilize company software (Monday.com) to track building issue management, maintenance records, and facility information.
  • Manage vendor network and relationships and oversee facility projects done by outside vendors.
  • Understand and apply International Building Code requirements to facilities in the network.
  • Multitask in a school setting.
