About The Position

The Regional Facilities Security Manager will collaborate with Crane Global Security to develop and oversee compliance with loss prevention, transportation security, and physical security plans for facilities within the Region. This role ensures the safety of personnel and the security of cargo, liaises with regional security vendors, and develops and ensures compliance with post orders. The position supports the development and maintenance of the Crane security vision, objectives, strategies, policies, and procedures to continuously improve the company’s security culture. The manager will drive continuous improvement of security behaviors and outcomes by delivering methodologies and tools to effectively mitigate identified risks, and will collaborate to develop and oversee compliance to systemic processes for data collection, analysis of incidents, and trend tracking. This role drives accountability for performance through company leadership and associates, oversees and guides security and loss prevention programs, and drives leading performance indicators through a security dashboard and metrics. The manager will implement initiatives to reduce and prevent security breaches, pilferage, and theft, visit jobsites to support physical security implementation, and ensure facilities are set up with appropriate physical security measures. They will develop and deliver security training programs, establish investigation policies and procedures, lead security incident investigations, and develop and maintain security incident reporting and investigation procedures, emergency response plans, and crisis management protocols. Collaboration with local authorities/law enforcement and emergency services is key, as is investigating allegations of employee misconduct, security breaches, and internal control violations. The role involves conducting and/or coordinating security awareness training, conducting security surveys, and monitoring/reporting on cargo theft trends. The manager will propose, explore, and implement security initiatives, develop policies and programs to improve the security culture, and oversee the evaluation of current security processes for improvement. Collaboration with Crane Global Security to recommend and develop new tools, methods, and systems is also a responsibility, as is defining and measuring compliance to standard operating procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years freight forwarding/transportation/logistics industry experience or commensurate corporate security experience.
  • Extensive knowledge and expertise in investigations, loss prevention tools, and project/program management tools.
  • Ability to strategically plan over a 12-24 month time span.
  • Strong client orientation and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior law enforcement experience - knowledge of applicable local and national criminal laws and procedures preferred.
  • Previous work experience in the detection of fraudulent activities and conducting both internal /external fraud and theft investigations preferred.
  • In depth knowledge of TAPA, CTPAT and other industry related security standards.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Crane Global Security to develop and oversee compliance to loss prevention measures to mitigate risk of theft or pilferage within the Region.
  • Collaborate with Crane Global Security to develop and oversee compliance to transportation security measures within the Region for high-risk areas, or high-risk cargo shipments.
  • Collaborate with Crane Global Security to develop and oversee compliance to physical security plans for facilities within the Region to ensure the safety of personnel and security of cargo.
  • Liaise with regional security vendors for guard services and ensure compliance with Statements of Work for personnel.
  • Develop and ensure compliance to post orders for security vendor personnel within the Region.
  • Supports development and maintenance of the Crane security vision, objectives, strategies, policies, and procedures to continuously improve and grow the company’s security culture.
  • Collaborate with Crane Global Security to develop and oversee compliance to programs that ensure a safe and secure workplace, including, security audits, security orientations, theft investigations, etc.
  • Drives continuous improvement of security behaviors and outcomes by delivering methodologies and tools to effectively mitigate identified risks within the Region.
  • Collaborate with Crane Global Security to develop and oversee compliance to systemic process to collect data and analyze the causes of incidents and near misses and track trends and generate required reporting within the Region.

  • Oversees and guides the security and loss prevention programs and drives leading performance indicators through security dashboard and metrics.
  • Implements initiatives to reduce and prevent any potential security breach, pilferage and/or theft within the Region.
  • Visit and assist jobsites and work areas to support implementation of physical security requirements in accordance with company standards, security hazard identification and control plans.
  • Ensure all facilities with the Region are setup with appropriate physical security measures such as access controls and camera systems per company guidelines and standards as directed by Crane Global Security.
  • Develop and deliver security training programs within the Region to engage employees and encourage the proactive reporting of security concerns.
  • Establish investigation policies, procedures and workflows and lead security incident investigations.
  • Develop and maintain security incident reporting and investigation procedures, emergency response plans, and crisis management protocols per company guidelines and standards as directed by Crane Global Security.
  • Collaborate with local authorities/law enforcement and emergency services to ensure readiness for incidents.
  • Investigate all allegations of employee criminal misconduct, security breaches, and internal control violations, and provide required reporting of such incidents, including code of conduct violations to appropriate management personnel.
  • Conduct and/or coordinate various controls and security awareness training for the Region.
  • In coordination with Crane Global Security, conduct security surveys of all facilities, and submit recommendations to appropriate management personnel.
  • Monitor and report on cargo theft trends and prevention measures within the Region and/or Industry.
  • Conduct regular drills and exercises to test the effectiveness of facility and transportation security measures.
  • Propose, explore and implement security initiatives based on data analysis and feedback.
  • Develops policies, programs and initiatives to improve the culture of security.
  • Oversees evaluation of current security processes within the region to determine areas of improvement.
  • Collaborates with Crane Global Security to recommend and develop new and advanced tools, methods and systems to ensure ongoing improvements in the facility and transportation security throughout the region.
  • Define and measure compliance to standard operating procedures.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
