Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in mission-critical facilities operations, preferably in data center environments.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, including high-voltage systems, chilled water systems, and emergency power systems.
  • Proven leadership and team management experience.
  • Familiarity with CMMS platforms and building automation systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
  • On-site presence required with availability for on-call support and emergency response.
  • May involve lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces or high-voltage areas.

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications such as PMP, CFM, or Data Center-specific credentials (e.g., DCEP, CDCP) are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations and maintenance of all critical facility systems including HVAC, UPS, generators, switchgear, fire suppression, and BMS.
  • Lead and manage a team of facility engineers and technicians, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and operational standards.
  • Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Coordinate with IT, security, and construction teams for infrastructure upgrades and capacity planning.
  • Monitor and analyze system performance metrics to ensure operational efficiency and compliance.
  • Manage vendor relationships and service contracts for facility-related services.
  • Respond to emergency situations and lead incident management and root cause analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as internal policies and industry standards (e.g., Uptime Institute, NFPA, ASHRAE).
  • Maintain documentation including SOPs, MOPs, EOPs, and asset inventories.
  • Support budgeting and cost control for facility operations and capital projects.
