Regional Editor, Equity - Real Estate
About The Position
PEI Group is seeking a Regional Editor for its real estate brand, PERE, based in New York or London. This role is crucial for generating content ideas, acting as a visible editorial contact, and maintaining senior relationships within the global private real estate marketplace. The editor will contribute to the editorial direction and strategy for both the website (pei-privaterealestate.com) and the PERE magazine, staying abreast of market news and events to ensure timely and relevant coverage. Responsibilities include commissioning articles, editing copy, liaising with production, writing insight and analysis pieces, breaking exclusive news, contributing to newsletters, and chairing thought leadership initiatives like roundtable discussions. PERE is an award-winning publication known for its focus on property's private capital markets and its growing subscriber base.
Requirements
- A built-up book of impactful stories.
- Preferably over two or more years of working experience in business journalism.
- Formal journalism education or training is a must.
- Ability to demonstrate an aptitude for proprietary analysis writing and exclusive news reporting in digital and print.
- Written and spoken fluency in English is essential.

- Experience in social media and multimedia journalism including video, podcast and other online formats.

- Willingness to travel for assignments on occasion.
Responsibilities
- Enhance and maintain PERE’s senior relationships in the global private real estate marketplace.
- Work closely with the Editor, Equity and Senior Editor, Real Estate to determine the overall editorial direction and execution strategy for pei-privaterealestate.com and PERE magazine.
- Contribute to the editorial agenda for pei-privaterealestate.com and PERE magazine in collaboration with the Editor, Equity.
- Stay on top of key news and events in the market with a view to determining the most important coverage for both formats.
- Commission articles, edit copy, and liaise with the Production team on design matters.
- Determine, pitch, research and write both on and off-diary insight and analysis pieces, as well as, where appropriate pieces for PERE’s Special Projects publications.
- Break exclusive news on events in the global private real estate market.
- Write regular commentaries for pei-privaterealestate.com and PERE magazine and various special magazines as well maintain frequent commentary on social media channels.
- Contribute to PERE’s weekly Blueprint email newsletter, through idea generation and providing written items.
- Chair and write up thought leadership initiatives, including roundtable discussions.
