About The Position

Fraser Health’s Regional Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology is seeking a Regional Division Head of Obstetrics. This role involves developing annual operating objectives, serving as a communication channel, establishing clinical practice standards, encouraging continuing medical education and research, promoting health and wellness, and ensuring a respectful workplace. The position also includes investigating complaints, reviewing human resource requirements, contributing to recruitment, and establishing a quality assurance/quality improvement structure.

Responsibilities

  • Developing annual operating objectives for the Regional Division
  • Functioning as the channel of communication to and from the Regional Division
  • Developing, with the members of the Regional Division, standards of clinical practice for the Regional Division
  • Recommending those standards to the Regional Department and ensuring that the Regional Division members work within established standards
  • Encouraging and facilitating programs for the continuing medical education of Regional Department members
  • Arranging and chairing Regional Division meetings as required
  • Working with universities to ensure that education programs and research activities are being sufficiently promoted and supported
  • Promoting health and wellness amongst members
  • Encouraging a healthy, respectful workplace
  • Investigating and documenting complaints regarding care provided by Members within the Regional Division
  • Reviewing with the Regional Division and the Regional Department Head | Program Medical Director, the human resource requirements of the Regional Division
  • Contributing to the search and selection of applicants for vacancies in the Regional Division
  • Establishing a quality assurance/quality improvement structure and program for the Regional Department
