Regional Distribution Center Manager

National Carwash SolutionsTown of Ledgeview, WI

About The Position

The Regional Distribution Center Manager is the senior on-site leader responsible for operating and scaling a flagship Regional Distribution Center (RDC) within the NCS network. This is not a maintenance role, it is a build-and-lead assignment that requires an operator who can recruit and develop a high-performing team, and establish the operational standards that will serve as the blueprint for the broader RDC network. This leader will own the complete P&L for their facility, maintain best-in-class inventory accuracy, deliver daily operational visibility to leadership, and serve as the critical link between the RDC and the broader NCS organization/VP. They must think like an owner: anticipating problems before they escalate, partnering proactively with peers and cross-functional teams, and using data and critical thinking—not just experience—to drive decisions. The right candidate sets the pace, raises the bar, and builds something others want to replicate.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and progressive experience)
  • Minimum 7–10 years of warehouse/distribution operations experience, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or leadership role
  • Demonstrated P&L ownership with a track record of managing budgets and driving cost optimization
  • Proven experience standing up a new facility or leading a major operational transformation
  • Hands-on proficiency with WMS/ERP platforms and strong working knowledge of BI/reporting tools
  • Deep knowledge of warehousing/distribution design, inventory management systems, and transactional processing
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with a track record of data-driven decision making
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present to senior leadership
  • Project management experience with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to recruit, develop, and retain high-performing teams

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in automotive aftermarket, car wash, or chemical distribution industries
  • Demonstrated continuous improvement experience
  • Experience managing multi-shift or multi-site distribution operations
  • Familiarity with route optimization and last-mile delivery logistics

Responsibilities

  • Own full inventory accountability for the RDC, including daily cycle counts, variance resolution, and root cause analysis of discrepancies; maintain inventory accuracy at or above 95%
  • Manage receiving, put-away, pick, pack, and ship processes to ensure the full NCS product suite is available and delivered accurately, on time, and to the correct location
  • Establish and enforce inventory control SOPs covering damage prevention, lot rotation, shrinkage mitigation, and product integrity from receipt through final mile delivery
  • Conduct regular physical audits and reconcile system records (WMS/ERP) to identify and correct discrepancies before they impact customer fulfillment
  • Prepare and distribute daily operational reports covering order fulfillment rates, inventory positions, labor productivity, shipping accuracy, and open exceptions
  • Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) daily and weekly to identify trends, flag risks, and drive corrective action before issues compound
  • Leverage WMS to translate operational data into actionable insights; present findings to leadership and site team with clear recommendations
  • Track and report on facility P&L performance, including labor cost per unit, cost per order, and budget-to-actual variance
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for customer complaints, service failures, and supply chain disruptions; own resolution from identification through closure with documented root cause and corrective action
  • Escalate issues to the VP of Distribution and cross-functional partners within defined SLAs, providing context, impact assessment, and proposed solutions—not just problems
  • Maintain a real-time escalation tracker and ensure no open issue exceeds 24 hours without a status update to affected stakeholders
  • Proactively identify potential service risks and communicate them upstream before they become customer-impacting events
  • Partner with peer RDC Managers and the corporate distribution team to share best practices, align on standard operating procedures, and drive consistency across the network
  • Collaborate with Sales, Customer Service, Procurement, and Transportation teams to optimize order flow, resolve fulfillment gaps, and improve the end-to-end customer experience
  • Participate in weekly cross-functional syncs and contribute operational intelligence that informs demand planning, product allocation, and network strategy
  • Apply structured problem-solving methodologies (5 Whys, fishbone analysis) to diagnose operational breakdowns and implement sustainable fixes
  • Challenge the status quo: identify inefficiencies in workflows, layouts, and processes, then design, pilot, and scale improvements with measurable ROI
  • Evaluate staffing models, shift structures, and labor allocation using data rather than assumptions; adjust dynamically to meet fluctuating demand
  • Conduct post-mortem reviews on major service failures or safety incidents and implement preventive measures to ensure non-recurrence
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing warehouse team, including recruiting, onboarding, training, and performance management
  • Define and communicate clear performance expectations for safety, quality, delivery, cost, and engagement; hold the team accountable through regular 1:1s and performance reviews
  • Champion a safety-first culture: ensure 100% completion of required training, enforce OSHA/EPA compliance, conduct regular safety walks, and drive toward zero recordable incidents
  • Foster an environment of accountability, ownership, and continuous learning aligned with NCS Values and Vision
  • Ensure full compliance with all federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping regulations, including OSHA, EPA
  • Stay current on regulatory changes; advise leadership on required actions and implement updates proactively
  • Maintain all required documentation, certifications, and audit-ready records for the facility
