About The Position

We are looking for a passionate Regional Director to join our team and make a difference in Mid-America Region. This is a unique opportunity to bring expertise in event planning, teen mentorship and project management to revitalize and strengthen BBYO in a vibrant Jewish community with a long history of BBYO influence. As a Regional Director, you’ll play a pivotal role in growing membership, training teen leaders, planning fun and meaningful programs, and strengthening community support for BBYO in the St. Louis area. Together with the dedicated and dynamic Mid-America team, you’ll shape the lives of hundreds of Jewish teens.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of work experience
  • A bachelor's degree or higher
  • Must reside in the St. Louis area and be willing and able to travel regularly throughout the region for chapter and regional programs.
  • Ability to travel to organization-wide events such as International Convention, Staff Conference, and to staff a summer leadership program at a location in the U.S. for 2-3 weeks each summer.
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours (some nights and weekends) when teens are available
  • Unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. without holding a visa or sponsorship.
  • To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty/function with or without reasonable accommodation in accordance with applicable law.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with youth or teens is preferred.
  • Experience with event management and planning is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coaching and mentoring teens to implement an annual calendar of high quality, diverse and fun programs at the chapter and regional level.
  • Managing the teen-led regional board and regional initiatives, including two overnight conventions and other major regional events.
  • Ensuring, in partnership with the teens and staff, regional programs are engaging, impactful, well-promoted, and safely executed.
  • Recruiting, training, supervising, and building a strong community of volunteer advisors that work directly with local chapters.
  • Seeking out and cultivating relationships with parents, alumni, and partners in the community to mobilize more people to grow and support BBYO.
  • Utilizing data to drive decisions in continuing to build a robust member recruitment process to expand the impact of BBYO in Mid-America Region.
  • Participating in organizational projects, teams, and summer programs as assigned to expand the movement and strengthen teen leadership.
