About The Position

3i is a rapidly growing, invitation-only community of family offices and private investors sharing deals, insights, and contacts. With a focus on alternative and off-market deal flow, shared benefits, and investor services, 3i serves as a kitchen table around which highly engaged high net worth individuals can discuss and debate compelling, unexpected opportunities in emerging sectors. The company has 850+ members across nine cities and 27 countries, with $1.6B deployed through the network. It has grown entirely through member referrals since 2021. The role of Regional Director is to grow the 3i community in Chicago by driving new member growth and engaging existing members to ensure high retention and value realization from the community through deals, events, and connections. The pipeline for this role comes from within the community through member referrals, as conversations start warm with successful individuals who join because the community is worth their time.

Requirements

  • 3+ years in a customer-facing role, ideally while carrying a quota.
  • Experience with sophisticated buyers is helpful but not required.
  • Ability to ask for the business: comfortable asking members for introductions and prospective members to join.
  • Willingness to be coached: calls reviewed and specific, direct feedback provided weekly.
  • Internally motivated: Proactively identify next steps without waiting to be told.
  • Curious and takes notes: Ask follow-up questions and remember details from previous conversations.
  • Credible with accomplished people: Executive presence is required.
  • Move with urgency and prefer high standards over comfortable ones.

Responsibilities

  • New member growth in Chicago: Source introductions from members, run the membership conversation, and take prospective members through references and invitation.
  • Getting new members active quickly: Own onboarding so they are into the platform, on the events calendar, and connected to other members in their first weeks.
  • Making sure members get what they joined for: Deals they want to see, events they attend, and introductions that matter to them.
  • Prepared quarterly conversations with every member: Discuss members to meet, relevant events, and potential deals.
  • Partnering with the investment team so members hear about deals that fit their investment criteria.
  • Events in your market: Identify the theme, curate the room, and host events, including small curated dinners and larger events.
  • Running a consistent process: Log every conversation in HubSpot and record every call on Gong for coaching and improvement.
