About The Position

The Regional Director is a strategic and operational leader responsible for driving the performance, growth, and client success of specialty pharmacy programs across a designated region. This role oversees multi-site operations within partnered health systems, with full accountability for financial outcomes, operational excellence, and client satisfaction. Serving as the primary liaison between corporate leadership and client executives, the Regional Director ensures the successful execution of program strategies, achievement of key performance metrics, and delivery of high-quality patient care. The position plays a critical role in translating organizational and client objectives into scalable, efficient operations while fostering strong relationships, leading high-performing teams, and navigating the complex healthcare landscape. This leader is expected to proactively identify opportunities for growth and optimization, address clinical and financial challenges, and drive continuous improvement across all sites. Success in this role requires a balance of strategic insight, operational rigor, and influential leadership to deliver consistent, predictable results in a dynamic, client-facing environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 7+ years of experience in successfully leading large, diverse, and remote teams across multiple clients or sites, demonstrating a deep understanding of the health system domain is required.
  • Proven record of accomplishment in operations, including P&L responsibility across multiple business units or client sites, is required.
  • Extensive understanding of pharmacy, specialty pharmacy, and 340B, or the ability to rapidly acquire such knowledge.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, coupled with advanced analytical ability, for effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Exceptional organizational and managerial aptitude, with the capability to develop strategy and lead teams in dynamic settings.
  • Outstanding management and communication abilities.
  • Proven record of accomplishment of thriving in a metric-driven, process-oriented environment with an elevated level of accountability.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA preferred.
  • Pharmacist licenses are preferred but not required.
  • Private consulting or professional services experience preferred.
  • Preference for a robust network of industry leaders and analysts.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct oversight of client site specialty pharmacy operations leadership teams for designated hospital system partners, ensuring accountability for P&L and operational performance.
  • Offer leadership and day-to-day performance management support to all dedicated client staff at all levels.
  • Take responsibility for all performance measures for regional clients, including total revenue, growth, patient enrollment, margin, and budget management.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the health system environment and establish relationships with executive and staff levels to overcome roadblocks and ensure program success.
  • Identify and implement operational efficiencies and standardization, providing companywide feedback and solutions for improved efficiency.
  • Ensure successful execution of strategies and initiatives by Site Directors, supporting them in achieving company and client goals with excellence, urgency, and predictability.
  • Collaborate closely with internal cross-functional teams to ensure high client satisfaction and address concerns effectively.
  • Translate client and corporate strategic developments into operational functions independently, providing meaningful feedback when adjustments are necessary.
  • Focus on delivering exceptional patient service at client sites, meeting accreditation and compliance requirements.
  • Engage corporate support functions to optimize performance at client sites, including corporate operations, centralized support centers, implementation teams, and other SMEs and corporate departments.
  • Understand and creatively address clinical and financial challenges faced by health systems, leveraging specialty pharmacy capabilities.
  • Participate in the hiring, orientation, and ongoing training of staff to support on-site client leadership.
  • Foster a positive work environment and promote teamwork and partnership at all levels.
  • Influence others effectively to drive change management at client sites.
  • Understand and communicate the region's market trends, changes, and competitive landscape, including local payor markets and drug access.
  • Ensure staff training and compliance with applicable state and federal laws and regulations, including board of pharmacy regulations and local, state, and federal regulations for assigned client sites.
