About The Position

The Regional Director of Hospice Services will work closely with the Regional Vice President of Operations and/or the Division President in providing supplemental administration coverage to Bristol Hospice locations throughout the country. This position would act as the Executive Director, Director of Patient Care Services and Clinical Supervisor as directed.

Requirements

  • Must have a bachelor's degree in nursing
  • Must have five (5) years of experience in hospice administration
  • Must be a registered nurse with current licensure in good standing to practice professional nursing
  • Must demonstrate an ability to supervise and direct professional and administrative personnel
  • Must demonstrate the ability to deal effectively with the community and outreach activities
  • Must be knowledgeable of corporate business management
  • Must understand hospice care and the services provided to patient and family/caregiver through an interdisciplinary group
  • Must possess intimate knowledge of Medicare Conditions of Participation and Accreditation processes and standards
  • Must be willing to obtain RN licensure in all states where Bristol Hospice has a presence
  • Must be willing to travel up to 90% of the time, often without notice, and may be for long periods
  • Must be flexible in work hours
  • Must comply with company policies, procedures and processes in addition to Hospice rules and regulations
  • Must comply with harassment and discrimination policies
  • Must foster good working relationships
  • Must be dependable and flexible in work hours
  • Must be a licensed driver with licensed automobile that is insured in accordance with organization/state requirements and is in good working order
  • Must be willing to submit to a criminal background check prior to hire and annually thereafter
  • May have to travel in inclement weather
  • May be required to stand and sit for long periods
  • Must be able to hear and see with or without aid
  • Must be able to read and follow instructions as required
  • Must be willing to participate in a drug/alcohol screen prior to hire, if involved in a work- related automobile accident and if reasonable suspicion is reported

Responsibilities

  • Provides supplemental administration coverage for various Bristol locations, as assigned
  • Ensures organizational compliance with legal, regulatory and accreditation requirements
  • Monitors business operations to insure financial stability
  • Performs conflict and complaint management and resolution experience
  • Establishes and maintains effective channels of communication, including integration or technology, as applicable; Hospice software experience preferred
  • Ensures hospice personnel stay current with clinical information and practices
  • Ensures adequate and appropriate staffing
  • Provides staff development including orientation, in-service, continuing education, competency testing and quality assessment performance improvement committee membership
  • Possesses experience directing and leading a hospice interdisciplinary team
  • Ensures coordination with other departments, services and senior management, as appropriate
  • Ensures staff and organization stay current on local/national hospice issues and trends
  • Ensures policies and procedures are followed
  • Directs and monitor staff in performance of their duties including admission, discharge, transfer, revocation and provision of service to patients
  • Ensures appropriate staff supervision during all service hours
  • Monitors service utilization to ensure delivery of comprehensive care through review of performance outcomes in clinical, financial, quality and operations
  • Ensures services provided by other agencies are authorized by hospice
  • Monitors operational progress toward accomplishing operational and strategic goals
  • Ensures appropriate data collection and regular, complete reports are received by the Governing Body
  • Ensures adequate space, equipment and supplies are available
  • Ensures actionable objectives are derived from evaluation of hospice services and personnel
  • Ensures that structure and systems promote interdisciplinary care
  • Ensures collaboration with agencies and vendors for effective management of services
  • Ensures standards of ethical business and clinical practice are maintained
  • Assumes job responsibilities of the role assigned
