About The Position

Thomas & Hutton has an opening for Regional Director of Economic Development in North Carolina. Regional Director will be responsible for leading development and expansion of our firm in North Carolina.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Economics, Communications, Business or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in economic development, site selection consulting, business development, or a related field
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and effectively organize workflow
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and related business applications
  • Strong proposal development, editing, formatting, proofreading, and presentation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong relationship-building and client-service abilities
  • Self-starter mindset with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • High level of professionalism and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to present information confidently to executives, clients, community leaders, and the general public
  • Excellent time-management skills with demonstrated ability to manage schedules, deadlines, and competing priorities

Responsibilities

  • Travel around the state to meet with local, regional, and State economic development professionals and partners.
  • Attend business development events around the state.
  • Support Regional Directors in other T&H offices.
  • Visit clients, jobsites and consultant offices as needed to support project and business development needs.
  • Responsible for establishing continuing contacts with new prospects and act as principal contact for selected clients.
  • Identify opportunities and manage team efforts for submittals, responses, interviews, presentations, and related activities.
  • Coordinate marketing activities related to specific clients or prospects.
  • Oversee preparation of materials and information for submittals, presentations, proposals and brochures.
  • Review and develop goals, objectives, budgets, and strategies for new business opportunities and assigned projects.
  • Approve status reports and apprise management of project progress.
  • Establish goals, objectives, strategies, and budget requirements for developing new business.
  • Actively participate in civic and professional organizations associated with economic development.
  • Proactive in presenting and communicating the capabilities and strengths of the company to others.
