About The Position

We are seeking a high-impact business development leader to expand the Ameriprise Financial Institution Group (AFIG) network of community banks and credit unions. In this role, you will drive territory growth, build executive relationships, and position Ameriprise as a strategic partner for wealth management and investment solutions. You will influence business growth through consultative selling, market insights, and partnership development while collaborating across the enterprise to deliver successful outcomes. Requirements

7-10 years of business development, sales, account management, or relationship management experience within financial services, investment management or banking.
Demonstrated success developing new business, managing complex sales cycles, and building relationships with senior executives and decision makers.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
Strong proficiency with customer relationship management tools, data analysis, reporting, prospecting, and Microsoft Office applications; advanced presentation skills preferred.
Excellent verbal, written, and public speaking skills with the ability to influence stakeholders, present to senior leaders and boards, and communicate complex concepts effectively.
Highly self-motivated, entrepreneurial, results-oriented professional with strong organizational, time management, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and respond quickly to client needs while maintaining a high standard of service.
Ability and willingness to travel regularly throughout an assigned geographic territory.

Nice To Haves

Community bank and credit union partnerships experience a plus.
Ability to communicate with other departments within the firm to achieve goals (Sales, Marketing, IT, Operations, Compliance, HR).
Must be able to work independently with minimum supervision.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute territory growth strategies to expand the financial institution channel, acquire new bank and credit union partners, and achieve business growth objectives.
Build and deepen executive-level relationships with bank and credit union leadership, positioning Ameriprise as a trusted strategic partner and identifying opportunities to deliver wealth management, investment, and program solutions.
Lead the full business development lifecycle, including prospecting, pipeline management, needs assessment, proposal development, presentations, negotiations, contract execution, forecasting, and customer relationship management activities.
Partner with internal stakeholders across operations, marketing, compliance, program management, and leadership teams to successfully onboard and implement new financial institution partnerships.
Represent Ameriprise in the marketplace through industry conferences, banking associations, networking events, and client engagements while monitoring competitive trends and market opportunities.
Travel throughout the assigned territory to cultivate relationships, support business development activities, and drive sustained growth.
