About The Position

As a Regional Director of Healthcare Technology Management Architect at Community Health Systems (CHS) you’ll play a vital role in supporting our purpose to help people get well and live healthier by providing safe, quality healthcare, building enduring relationships with our patients, and providing value for the people and communities we serve. The Regional Director of Healthcare Technology Management (HTM) drives the CHS corporate goals and objectives set by CHS senior leadership. The HTM RD provides leadership and drives the strategic direction for healthcare technology management programs as outlined in policies and procedures, HTM KPIs, HTM OKRs, program regulatory analytics requirements across the organization. This role is accountable for aligning HTM strategy with clinical, operational, financial, and regulatory priorities, ensuring the safe, compliant, and cost-effective management of medical technology assets included in the inventory. The HTM RD oversees HTM staff, and drives standardization, optimization, and continuous improvement across HTM operations, and medical device lifecycle management. Candidates must be based in Missouri and should anticipate frequent regional travel of up to 50% during key strategic initiatives, regional rollouts, and peak operational phases.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Electronics Engineering or a related field; or Military service with a biomedical equipment or electronics specialty alongside 10 years of relevant experience; or A combination of education and 15 years of relevant experience (considered in lieu of a formal degree).
  • 7–9 years of progressive healthcare technology management (or related field) experience required.
  • 3–5 years of supervisory or leadership experience directly overseeing technical staff required.
  • Residence Requirement: Remote role; candidate must be living and home-based in Missouri.
  • Event-driven and project-focused. Candidates should anticipate up to 50% travel during key strategic initiatives, regional rollouts, and peak operational phases.
  • Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) certification such as CBET, CHTM, CRES, or CLES required
  • Strong strategic and analytical thinking with proven leadership capability in complex healthcare environments.
  • Deep expertise in healthcare technology management, program governance, and portfolio planning.
  • Exceptional executive communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead organizational change and drive transformative operational initiatives.
  • Thorough understanding of medical device regulatory requirements across agencies (CMS, TJC, CLIA, AABB, NRC, State, and Local). Directly responsible for ensuring the HTM program meets all regulatory standards.
  • Strong financial acumen with hands-on experience managing operational budgets, capital plans, and resource allocation.

Responsibilities

  • Execute HTM corporate enterprise-wide strategy and vision for the program.
  • Drive advanced analytics, asset management, medical device lifecycle planning, and overall performance measurement.
  • Provide inspiring leadership and direct oversight to assigned HTM staff, fostering operational excellence, talent development, and succession planning.
  • Partner with executive leaders, clinical stakeholders, digital technology teams, finance, and supply chain to align HTM priorities with overall CHS goals, local organizational objectives, and capital planning.
  • Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements, accreditation Elements of Performance (EPs), and safety standards while proactively managing operational risk across healthcare technologies.
  • Assist in the development of enterprise initiatives focused on medical device standardization, cost optimization, robust data governance, and continuous improvement across the HTM portfolio.
