About The Position

Total Wine & More is seeking a Regional HR Director, Field to join our Human Resources team in our Midwest market. The primary responsibility of this role is to oversee the HR functions across multiple locations within a designated region. This position provides strategic leadership and ensures that all HR activities align with the company's goals, culture, and compliance requirements. The role includes driving talent acquisition, employee engagement, performance management, training development, compensation and benefits, and fostering positive employee relations. Lead the company's HR initiatives in partnership with the Regional Vice President and their stores. The RDHR reports to the VP of Field Human Resources. You will Partners with the RVP and EVP of Stores to ensure there is an active workforce planning practice in place to support the new store growth plans. Facilitates the Regional Talent Review and ensures there is an effective Succession Plan strategy in place for all key positions; provides ongoing coaching and developmental ideas for the Regional Management team members. Drives the talent acquisition efforts for the region, including internal and external managers, Supervisors and Team Member positions. Works to ensure store teams are creatively recruiting for highly skilled Service Team Members for the Wine, Beer and Spirits areas. This could include building external relationships with local resources. Leads the performance cycle for the Region including annual reviews, midyear performance updates, individual development plans, and performance improvement plans. Conducts Human Resources training that include both soft skills development and operational skills training. Consults on employee related concerns, issues, and progressive discipline steps to ensure consistent and fair application of Total Wine policies and practice. Actively participates in the business through regular store visits with and without the regional team and provides feedback. Ensure activities are compliant with federal and state employment laws and regulations, and notifies corporate of local updates for policy changes. Partner with Compensation, Total Rewards, Talent Acquisition and Organizational Learning to develop and implement best practices and monitor their applications throughout the organization. Actively participates in the business through regular store visits with and without the regional team and provides feedback. 65 - 70% travel required. Ideal residence within the Dallas Ft. Worth, Houston, or San Antonio markets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive Retail Management, Human Resources, and Multi-Unit experience.
  • Ability to develop and manage strong relationships at all levels.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both oral and written.
  • Must be a strong relationship developer, consultant and demonstrate the ability to deal successfully with complexities of a company experiencing significant growth.
  • Proven ability to attract, recruit and retain candidates from a variety of sources.
  • Develops strategy and execute plans for supporting a front-line organization.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to lead projects with overlapping tasks and apply analytics/metrics to ongoing process improvements.
  • Full working knowledge and understanding of all federal, state, and local employment law in Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Louisiana, Colorado, New Mexico, Kentucky, Kansas, Indiana, Missouri, Michigan, Illinois, Minnesota, Nebraska, and Washington.
