About The Position

The Regional Clinical Director provides regional clinical leadership, oversight, and supervision for behavioral health treatment services across Prosperous Health’s programs and facilities within the Agoura Hills to Gorman region. This role is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based, client-centered clinical care across outpatient, Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), and other applicable levels of care. The Regional Clinical Director works closely with executive leadership, Program Directors, clinical supervisors, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure clinical integrity, regulatory compliance, staff development, quality of care, and optimal client outcomes across the region. This is a key regional leadership position responsible for maintaining consistent clinical standards, treatment philosophy, policies, and practices across assigned programs while supporting each program’s individual operational and clinical needs. The ideal candidate is an experienced behavioral health clinician and leader with strong supervisory and program management skills, extensive knowledge of behavioral health treatment, excellent clinical judgment, and a demonstrated commitment to improving systems of care and client outcomes.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related behavioral health field
  • Active California clinical license, such as LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in behavioral health settings
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of clinical leadership, management, or supervisory experience
  • Experience working in outpatient, IOP, PHP, residential, or comparable behavioral health treatment settings
  • Strong knowledge of evidence-based behavioral health treatment practices and clinical models
  • Strong understanding of HIPAA, California regulatory requirements, licensing standards, and clinical compliance
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop multidisciplinary clinical teams
  • Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and clinical judgment skills
  • Ability to manage multiple programs, priorities, and clinical teams across a geographic region
  • Ability and willingness to travel between regional locations as required

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience as a Clinical Director, Regional Clinical Director, or senior clinical leader
  • Experience overseeing multiple behavioral health programs or locations
  • Experience with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorder treatment
  • Knowledge of Joint Commission or other behavioral health accreditation standards
  • Experience with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
  • Training or certification in clinical supervision
  • Experience with program development, implementation, or expansion

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical leadership and oversight across Prosperous Health programs within the assigned region from Agoura Hills to Gorman
  • Ensure consistent delivery of evidence-based, client-centered care across all applicable levels of service
  • Provide clinical oversight and support to Program Directors, clinical supervisors, therapists, counselors, and other clinical staff
  • Review and approve treatment plans, clinical documentation, assessments, and clinical care decisions as appropriate
  • Lead and participate in clinical case consultations, treatment team meetings, and multidisciplinary reviews
  • Ensure appropriate placement, transitions, and continuity of care for clients across levels of service
  • Promote consistency in clinical standards and treatment practices across regional programs
  • Conduct regular site visits and clinical reviews to assess program needs, staff performance, and quality of care
  • Serve as a senior clinical resource for complex cases, clinical concerns, and program-level issues
  • Establish, maintain, and monitor regional clinical policies, procedures, standards, and best practices
  • Monitor clinical outcomes, quality indicators, client satisfaction, and performance metrics
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and lead regional quality improvement initiatives
  • Ensure adherence to ethical standards, professional guidelines, and evidence-based treatment practices
  • Evaluate clinical programming and make recommendations for improvement or expansion
  • Oversee clinical training, supervision, competency development, and ongoing professional education
  • Promote a culture of clinical excellence, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Ensure regional clinical operations comply with applicable federal, state, and local regulations
  • Maintain adherence to HIPAA, California licensing requirements, and applicable accreditation standards
  • Support regulatory audits, inspections, licensing reviews, and accreditation processes
  • Monitor clinical documentation and practices for compliance with regulatory and organizational standards
  • Develop and implement corrective action plans when clinical, documentation, or compliance concerns arise
  • Partner with leadership to identify and mitigate clinical and regulatory risks
  • Ensure clinical policies and practices remain aligned with current regulatory requirements
  • Provide direct supervision and leadership to clinical supervisors and senior clinical staff as assigned
  • Support the recruitment, hiring, onboarding, evaluation, and retention of qualified clinical personnel
  • Provide guidance and support to Program Directors regarding clinical staffing and performance
  • Foster a professional culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and clinical excellence
  • Support ongoing clinical supervision and professional development
  • Identify training needs and coordinate appropriate educational and competency-building opportunities
  • Address performance concerns in collaboration with appropriate leadership and Human Resources
  • Develop and mentor emerging clinical leaders throughout the region
  • Collaborate with executive leadership and Program Directors on regional clinical strategy and organizational goals
  • Support the development, implementation, and expansion of behavioral health programs and services
  • Evaluate regional program needs and recommend improvements to clinical services and workflows
  • Support consistent implementation of organizational clinical policies across locations
  • Assist with opening, developing, and integrating new programs within the assigned region
  • Participate in strategic planning related to clinical services, staffing, programming, and growth
  • Help establish and maintain consistent standards of care across all regional locations
  • Partner with admissions, operations, utilization review, and other departments to support appropriate client care and flow
  • Collaborate with utilization review leadership and clinical teams regarding authorizations, medical necessity, and continued stay needs
  • Coordinate with hospitals, physicians, external providers, referral sources, and community partners as needed
  • Promote effective interdisciplinary communication and collaboration
  • Support transitions between levels of care and continuity of services
  • Participate in complex case reviews and assist with resolving barriers to appropriate care
